dead bodies in the street
Boy they got this under control....
“Bring out your dead!”
Sounds like Resident Evil: Extinction. Or maybe book I of the Illiad.
Not good:
Ebola Virus Antibody Prevalence in Dogs and Human Risk
In conclusion, this study offers the first evidence that
dogs might be asymptomatically infected by Ebola virus in the wild.

Lament: “the government that took an oath to defend and protect us.”
A hard, hard lesson for some to learn: “the government” is just other people no more or less fallible than others. They’re not special, they’re not minor deities, they’re individuals who don’t want to be that close to Ebola-infected bodies any more than you do, and who are prone to doing the minimum passible job just to get their precious skin away from there ASAP.
Such is another example of why sociopolitical liberty is so important: when the going gets hard, it’s up to you to take care of yourself.
They don’t have enough people to collect them. Because the bodies keep shedding virus, working on the burial detail can be fatal.
The outbreak in Congo was supposedly from eating some infected game meat.
I wonder if that game traveled from the infected areas into Congo. If so, there is the potential of this spreading game.
Jeepers... Thanks for the ping!
Yes, it is rough over there.
To make matters worse, dogs can carry the disease and remain asymptomatic.
AND, they eat dogs in Africa. The circle completes itself.
How many hundreds of years have we been teaching them to dig water wells and they still haven't a clue.
Bring Out Your Dead
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
