One of my aims is to find out who has the highest death total of all the tv western lawmen. I'd think just from all the years, twenty, Gunsmoke was on the tube Matt Dillon would have the most. You'd think the bad guys would eventually know enough to stay away from Dodge City and Marshal Dillon given his unblemished record.
And those mountains around Dodge City have always intrigued me. I've been through Kansas a number of times, and for the life of me I've never been able to find any snow-capped mountains. I must not be looking hard enough. (snicker)
The Rifleman, according to my tv producer relative, was criticized at the time for being too violent. I laughed at that until I started watching, lol. What's most amusing is that Chuck takes 150 folks (1st Season) down in front of son Mark. And yet Mark does not need some High Chaparral shrink to help him get past these many deaths.
Of course, Gunsmoke, by being on tv so long, might have the highest death rate.
