Democratic incumbent Sen. Mark Udall’s (Colo.) wife called for a carbon tax while appearing in a new anti-oil video produced by Leonardo DiCaprio.
“People are ready for conversation,” says Maggie Fox, Udall’s wife and former president of Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project, in the Green World Rising video, entitled, “Carbon.”
“They’re ready to understand that carbon pollution is causing this challenge and that there is a simple solution: put a price on carbon pollution,” she says.
DiCaprio is releasing a series of environmentalist videos on climate change, the first focusing on gathering support for a cap and trade system. A dark animated robot represents the oil and gas industry, and is shown grabbing money from the ground, producing nothing but black smoke into the atmosphere.
The video states that there is a “moral reason” for a carbon tax, and features Fox; self-described socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.); Joseph Romm, a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress; Eamon Ryan, the leader of the Irish Green Party, and others.

But the main culprit is short flights or short hops. Most of the fuel/energy used and emissions are from taking off and getting up to altitude.
First you have to break it out as stationary sources and mobile sources
Then break out the mobile sources as trucks, cars, busses, trains, aircraft, boats etc. But among these you have differentiate between freight and passenger.
In the overall scheme of things passenger aircraft is lower percent, but thru the years they have made more efficient engines, lighter aircraft, and higher occupancy rates.
When Liberals say they want a conversation, what they really mean is THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL DO, BECAUSE ITS WHAT WE WANT YOU TO DO.
I’ve come to wince internally whenever I hear a liberal use a word like ‘discussion’ or ‘conversation’ in matters like this. What they usually mean is,”I am going to continue to harangue you until you surrender.”

A carbon tax? Not even carbon dioxide, but carbon? I had to stop reading the article, I could just feel my IQ plummeting. No blood for pencils!
Smart move at this point in his campaign!! Maybe she can do a commercial with Bloomberg too.
