Tea party voters could dump Mitch McConnell just by staying home

he dilemma facing the true grass-roots tea party believers -- the dilemma they do not acknowledge -- is that their primary goal of whittling and whacking away at big government undercuts their secondary goal of saving the middle class from the greedy grip of big corporations..

If Democrats have a unifying philosophy, it is that government needs to be effective enough to curtail the economic and environmental abuses of unfettered capitalism. Republicans, on the other hand, preach the dogma that smaller government and unrestricted corporate power serves the best interests of the common man and woman.

The tea party folks have largely bought into that belief, but still are uncomfortable with Republicans who appear to be too much in thrall to big business. That is partly why a big tea party effort was mounted against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in Kentucky’s Republican primary. McConnell was rightly seen as the epitome of the GOP establishment that the tea partiers so disdain. Yet, even with major support from national tea party organizations, such as FreedomWorks and the Senate Conservatives Fund, challenger Matt Bevin could not depose the incumbent senator.

Now McConnell faces a robust challenge from Kentucky’s Democratic secretary of state, Alison Lundergan Grimes, who, at age 35, has been alive exactly as long as McConnell has been in the U.S. Senate. Polls show Grimes is in striking distance of beating the old veteran.

Please see Post #119 and give Kentuckians a little credit. Let a good Conservative run in 2020, who will not have demoralized and alienated the Conservative base and Grimes will not be around for the next 36 years.

Anyone who would rather dump McConnell and Lindsay and keep Harry Reid are NOT tea party supporters. They are trouble makers....

You are such an ignorant, ass-sucking, RINO lover.

McConnell won his last general election by 6%. That was before he pissed off his base by declaring war on them, and it was against a weak Dem.
Grimes ain’t weak.

I think McConnell is toast.

Such fallacious thought got us Obama.
___________________________________________________________

BULLSHIT DUDE! What got us Obama was every Black, every homosexual, every Welfare recipient and every Pro-Abortion baby killer in America, stood in line for hours to vote for Obama because the GOP, once again, nominated a Democrat-Light for their candidate who offered no real choice to them and had no fire in his gut. Get your crap together.

McConnell wins by 5.
________________________________

In previous races, McConnell did NOT have as viable opponent as he has this time. Also, in previous years he was not so bold to diss and show his utter disdain for Conservatives. He did not threaten to “crush” Conservatives in years past. He was not hated nearly as deeply as he is today. Mitch McConnell is like a thug husband who won’t work and support his family and beats his wife on a regular basis. But, he says he’s “sorry” and let’s make up when he wants sex.

A better strategy is to write in the conservative candidate. While write ins will not win the election, they will show to the GOPe just how many people COULD have voted..... if they ran a conservative.

Spot on! Glad someone, besides me, is saying exactly that.

A McConnell Senate is by far worse than a Reid Senate, and I don't think we will get a Reid Senate again even if McConnell loses.

I think this point is lost on many who think the importance of McConnell winning is paramount. If this traitor is destroyed and Kentucky ends up with a democrat for senator.......she will be in the minority party. There are too many other races that "Pubbies" will win that will insure a senate majority.

A new Republican Majority leader will be elected (if "Howdy Doody" is defeated).....and I guarantee you.......it will not then be a RINO! They will see the handwriting on the wall.

Yup.....check it out. He looks just like him.........

I give conservative Kentuckians TONS of credit. But they don't run the GOP.

You are looking at this situation in a shallow and superficial manner. You aren’t cognizant of the fact that this weapon will be used against our side again and again if it is seen to have worked without consequences.

Our only hope of stopping these sort of attacks against us is by making someone pay who orchestrated them.

_________________________________________________________

This argument is absurd, the Democrats use these arguments against us all the time. Of the two evils I will choose the lesser.

You let that Traitor Mitch McConnell get away with running those racist attack ads against McDaniel in Mississippi, and in two years it will be racist attack ads against every Tea Party Candidate everywhere.

You want to win a battle and lose the whole war. You are Penny wise, and Dollar foolish.

_________________________________________________________

You cannot win a war without winning battles. Look where we are now with what the Democrats did with only two years of both houses and the White house. You want to give them more?

I have never voted for a liberal democrat. Where did you make up that idea.

____________________________________________________

When there are two people running and you don’t vote for either of them then the Democrat that does vote will not have their vote cancelled by your vote, the same as your voting for the Democrat.

You get my point; and you know you do. I’d vote for a one-eyed crack whore before I’d vote for Mitch McConnell.

I vote for the person who will best represent me. You can waste your vote if your so choose and piss and moan for 4 more years.

Looks like you’re ready to vote for someone who insults your believes and has no intention of seeing conservative positions be passed.

So good luck playing that card again.

Can't fault the logic in this headline. Sounds pretty solid to me. Revenge really is best served cold.
