“Twilight Time” is my all-time favorite by the Platters. Music used to be so much more refined and mellow. Now Miley Sirus “twurks” and nobody bats an eye.

Who knew that Elvis would one day be "Easy Listening?"

O.T. but I didn’t want to make a thread - talk about a “Pretender!” I heard about the USC footballer who jumped off a balcony, crawled to the pool with two bad ankle sprains to rescue his 7 year old nephew that is all over the news. Hero!

He said “I would have done it even if it wasn’t my nephew” (nice touch).

As a cynic by nature I thought “yeah, hero if that’s what really happened, maybe he just jumped on a dare or something at a party and didn’t want to admit it”. But I’m a cynic.

Now they are saying on Sports Radio in Atlanta that reports are coming in that he was actually involved in a burglary.

Now THAT’s Pretending ;^)

My favorite Platters tunes are Hey, Now and Bark, Battle and Ball. Those tunes rock!

Back in the sixties some people used to tell me that I looked like the guy playing the piano in this number with the late great Clyde McPhatter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfNLyxbA6Vk Physically I am twice Bobby’s size but don’t have one percent of his talent.

Twilight Time by the Platters is one of my favorites.

There are already a couple of Josh Shaw threads on FR. His story is being investigated, and maybe it will check out. But he would be a fool to try to put over a bogus story about a heroic deed in the age of the smart phone.

Sorry about the previous O.T. post - I searched but came up empty - then I refined more and found it. I apologize.

and nobody bats an eye

We've aged and so will they but it does give one pause to ponder what music they will look back on with fond memories.

You can sometimes hear tunes like "Twilight Time" being played as background music in stores such as Trader Joe's. Will they be playing Mylie Cyrus at Trader Joe's in 2070?
