Israel is surrounded by hundreds of millions of Muslims who all want all Jews exterminated and for Israel to be wiped off the map.
In order to be victorious, Israel needs much greater funding from the US and Obama is denying Israel the funding they need for such an operation.
American funding allows Israel to engage in fruitless tit-for-tat. Without excessive American funding and the strings attached, the State of Israel would have long ago incorporated Gaza, Judea and Samaria, and invited those unhappy about it to leave. Low tech solutions can be much more permanent than high tech ones.
ROTFL. Even God chuckled at that one.
That’s what Bibi gets for wimping out to the UN and Jew-hating media ghouls. He has always been weak. Remember he is the one who gave away Hebron. He was PM when the Muslim Wakf was discovered to be carting away tons of Jewish artifacts from under the Temple Mount in dumpsters, and did NOTHING. I don’t understand why so many FReepers love this guy.
We already know Israel will ultimately be victorious. . .it’s the rest of us that have to worry. But we can rejoice that God takes care of His own. http://www.patburt.com/
Same reason the public "support" for W dropped here after winning in Iraq: enemies of America (in this case Israel) mostly lying through the media.
Hang in there, Bibi.
You are the man.
>>How many soft wars do we need to demonstrate before it is recognized that war is hell and nothing less.<<to be hell for the o
War is supposed to be hell for the other guy. Bibi is fighting with one hand tied behind his back and consequently war is hell for both sides. He has the equipment to wipe out the Hamas a yet he won’t do it.
“The poll also showed that 68% of Israelis think that the government has not been dealing well with the situation of citizens who live in Gaza-adjacent communities ...”
This is key. Those residents have been forced into a mass evacuation due to constant mortar (60mm-120mm) and short range rocket barrages daily.
Bibi has pulled the troops back after only penetrating a few miles into Gaza, and then pulled then back again, leaving Israelis confused and disappointing. Hamas has declared victory because of his withdrawal.
As someone said, Bibi talks a tough game, but either does not follow through or only partially does what he said he would do. On this case, he and other seem to desperately believe that Hamas wants peace, despite the never-ending barrages - the US and Egypt are also pushing Bibi in that direction.
In a way, Bibi seems to be imitating O’s red line posturing, and Israelis do not like it when their lives are on the line.
Then there is another angle that could lie behind Bibi’s seeming vacillation: Israel may be running out of ammo (not something he would make public). Certainly, the stocks of Iron Dome missiles could be running low as they are very expensive and complex to make. He or Ya’llon may have assumed the US would release the Negev stockpiles or sell them more ammo, but last I heard nothing had been done - much the same promise and situation facing the Kurds.

Me, I want an invasion of Gaza and the problem resolved with all necessary force.
The world hates us regardless if we hold back, so we might as well give them the full measure.
Two problems Bib has:
Obama and the EU keep interfering and holding Bibi back from carrying through on eliminating Hamas (along with world opinion that has always been anti-semitic; and
Bibi is running out of military supplies from the U.S. that Obama’s regime is withholding from Israel.
Thus Bibi has impossible constraints to deal with. He can’t fight the battle with Hamas he wants to and I don’t know how he will be able to as long as Bibi has to fight not only Hamas but everyone else in the world also. How that tiny little country has been able to continue to exist is beyond me. She has enemies everywhere and I feel incredibly sorry for Bibi and the stress he is under. A lesser man than he (like Obama) would have folded. Bibi’s core is steel. I hope his health holds up.
P.S., this poll is crap.
Bib = Bibi above. Typo.
