Didn't they already do this once? To put it into Obama terms, is this a mulligan? Why can't we do this?

Previously the Prime Minister tried to resign but Parliament would not accept his resignation, so it didn’t happen. We can’t do this because we don’t have a Prime Minister.

Parliamentary system vs a Constitutional Republic...

Seems like a strange thing to do, what with hostilities on the eastern front.

It’s necessary to clear the pro-Russian criminals out of Parliament so that positive reforms can occur with normal debate.

Okay. Lets hope it plays out reasonably.

It’s pretty sad that they can’t keep a coalition government together, and depend on so much propaganda to make their military look good. Doesn’t say much for their future.

How do you feel about Italy? It goes through a government per year.

Russians are part of the Ukraine. They should have a role in Parliament.

In parliamentary systems, elections cannot be delayed, but they can be held earlier, (1) at the discretion of the ruling majority, (2) in the event of a hung parliament or (3) on the eve of an important national decision.

The Parliament isn’t able to do their duty, this matters in Ukraine (not Russia where the Duma is a rubber stamp for Putin). Hopefully some good people in Ukraine can elect the kind of statesmen they need at a time like this

Russians should be equal citizens along with everyone else in Ukraine. But they should be loyal to Ukraine, not Russia.

“Russians are part of the Ukraine. They should have a role in Parliament.”

That’s how I see it. What is happening now looks more like ethnic cleansing than anything else. And the EU is clearly in favor of it, rather than helping to negotiate a diplomatic solution that benefits both sides. Isn’t that what they were set up for?

The ones who are fighting Ukraine should have no role in the Parliament. Since Crimea has been occupied by a foreign hostile power, I assume they don’t get to participate.

If the Russians stopped killing people this war would be over.

Ukrainians are the only parts of the Ukraine.

Russians live in Russia.

Where do you come up with this nonsense?

The Ukraine has been a sovereign nation for twenty years.

Nobody is denying Russian speaking people to be a part of the government. Get over it. Russia let the Ukraine go. It wasn’t some evil act.

Good grief, we tried for 70 years to get parts of Russia to become self-determining, and twenty years later we have the Russian apologists come in and try to support giving it all back. It’s nonsensical.

The Ukrainian people don’t have a right to be self-determining? Really?

A foreign nation should be able to come into a sovereign nation and call elections and take the territory based on that?

Where is that done on a regular basis? Perhaps you can enlighten us.

There are a lot of Spanish speaking people in the U. S. Do you approve of Mexico arming Texans and calling special elections along the border?

That’s just moronic. I have yet to find one Ukrainian who wants the Ukraine to be broken up. I’ve only talked to about a dozen people, but where do you folks come up with all these assumptions?

You’ve got mercs and old soviet unikon military types in the Ukraine.

How is that reasoned? How would you like Mexico arming our populace and not only demanding, but calling special elections in occupied contested regions of our nation?

There are a lot of Spanish speaking people in Texas. Should we allow Mexico to arm them and call a special election?

“But they should be loyal to Ukraine, not Russia.”

They were, until the anti-Russian sentiment at the Maidan took over, with threats and actual legislation to wipe out Russian Culture within Ukraine, and cries of “Ukraine for Ukrainians!” after the coup.

Most of the original leaders, and many of the Militia leaders, are Ukrainian Russians, like Bezler, or “Motorola”. They saw Putin move on Crimea after the coup, and they saw it as their chance, as well.

As predicted, if the Right Sector/Svoboda took over the government, if you will recall discussions from Feb.

Obama backed the most radical elements in Ukraine to take power. So why is ANYONE surprised that it back-fired, and that the Russians, especially Putin, would take advantage of it?

Remember... If there had been no coup, there would be no civil war today, and Crimea would still have a Ukrainian Flag over it.
