The story reads that the one friend was warned but isn’t clear if the other friend was warned. They vacated the first restaurant and went to another restaurant that appeared deserted.

The two were stalked by a lynch mob:

“... Weems’ house, Knighten said, they went into a Huddle House restaurant with a nearly vacant parking lot.

However, he said, they apparently had been followed by more than 20 people.”

So let’s say you have a small Southern town. And a black guy starts to go in a restaurant and is politely told, “ we don’t want any blacks around here”.
Would you say the same thing?
