My SIL just got out of a VA hospital after a 3 day stay. His doctor made it by once/day, not twice. The only visit that lasted over 2 minutes was when my wife (an RN) and I were there. That came after she asked why the patient hadn’t been seen for over 24 hours, and when was the doctor going to make his rounds.
My wife quit as a nurse when patient loads went from 4 to 6, with a roughly 50% increase in acuity, and the hospital got angry because she was putting in overtime. She said the “successful” nurses were the ones on her floor who filled in their paperwork BEFORE visiting the patient. That way, if they were interrupted, their paperwork showed them complete.
She then went to work in a rehab place. The first week, she asked why 20 drugged rehab patients were being wheeled into rehap, one or two were given some rehab for an hour while the rest dozed on, drugged in their wheelchair, but all 20 were shown as having done an hour of rehab. The second week, she was fired.
I have no idea what point you are trying to make here. Are you saying that Obamacare is the answer to whatever complaint your wife seems to be making?:
As a side note, over the past 6 years, I have been to two rehab facilities and have never experienced the account your wife seems to be trying to imply...........
Nothing personal but it sounds to me like your wife just may have an axe to grind given her perpensity for not being able to hold a legitimate nursing position for any length of time.
Her personal complaints do not jive with all the nurses and medical professionals I happen to know........
Just sayin........
If private, what was the average daily patient flow? If hospital, I would ask the same question........
