Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is apologizing for comments he made in “poor taste” about Asian people.
The apology was prompted by remarks he made Thursday to the Asian Chamber of Commerce in Las Vegas and after video was posted by conservative trackers.
“The Asian population is so productive. I don’t think you’re smarter than anybody else, but you’ve convinced a lot of us you are,” Reid said to applause, remarks first reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
After a man was introduced to the podium, Reid said: “One problem I’ve had today is keeping my Wongs straight.”

Also, if this was a Republican that had said this, it would get 24/7 coverage on CNN and MSNBC, above the fold coverage in the New York Times and Washington Post, and the Dems would be demanding his resignation. I remember the Washington Post had a George Allen macaca article on the front page every day for ten days in a row. Reid’s comment will be ignored by the media and the GOP cowards as well.
Reid apoligized for the gaffe by saying that it was because he had flied lice for diner.
I work at a hospital, and we recently sent something to a Dr. Wong. He called us up and explained it belonged to another Dr. Wong.
Dead seriously, he said “I’m the wrong Wong.”
Then I broke into a big grin. And yes, he was Asian.

The silly joke from back in the 60s was that an Asian husband grew suspicious when his wife gave birth to an unusual child......for an Asian couple.
When she assured the mister that all was on the level he loudly replied, “Two Wongs don’t make a white!”

My wife is native Japanese, and hilarious.
She, my sister (who has been slightly liberalized), and I were walking in Kobe when she suddenly said, “Is it me, or am I really yellow today?”
I practically fell down laughing and my sister said, *******, you cant SAY THAT.”

Where is the media uproar over this? Where are the calls to resign? Where is the scolding from top politicians? That is the routine when a republican makes even an innocent comment.
Your hypocritical, dishonest, phony apology is NOT accepted.
