The writer is a Democratic consultant but I think it is the truth. With the demographic changes the GOP as a conservative party is finished. It will become a Me Too party; we support Big Government but we will manage it better than the Democrats.

For Latinos to be successful, they must make the choices that are more prevalent within the GOP than in the Democrats
We don’t need to do squat.

If GOP wants to win, they need to be against illegal immigration. Many dems do not like this illegal amnesty push.
Stand up GOP, or lose forever.

the government that is currently seen as a partner of the communities they need to reach The goal is to convince them this is a poor idea, not to capitulate to big government. Our current party seeks power with no purpose, instead of advancing the purpose of our nation and convincing others it is the right path to follow. Reagan had it right. He won over voters with a superior vision.

I HOPE that 1/6th of the population now Hispanic are here LEGALLY. And, if so, many of them probably resent the illegals having gamed the process THEY had to go through and will vote accordingly...
Sorry, I thought it was April 1st.

How come the democrats are never asked to alter its message or ‘tone’ to attract more white males?

Alter it to what?
What this is really about, like all other stories suggesting the same thing is needing to pander to their ethnicity.

“the Republican Party had better find a way to embrace policies that do not demonize the government that is currently seen as a partner of the communities”
“The writer is a Democratic consultant”
Yeah, by all means lets take the advice of our opposition and shift to the left.

How 'bout the "Latinos" try to "reach out to" Republicans.
Let them come out for:
- lower taxes
- smaller government
- Pro-life
- Anti-gay marriage
- Religious freedom
- ...
- and willingness to vote for Republicans
Then I bet the Republicans would support them.
Of course the Democrats would drop them like turds.

I know, how about the GOP being concerned with the middle class instead of corporate welfare, the consultant class and pandering to illegals.
Such a novel idea.

Maria Cardona is a principal at Dewey Square Group, a Washington, D.C., public affairs firm. A veteran Democratic political consultant, she is the founder of Latinovations and a fellow at the George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management. Well, there ya go. Maria Cardona is a bonafide communist Democrat hack propagandist, offering free election advice to the Republican Party.
