California Sex Ed Gone Mad
Accuracy in Academia ^ | August 21, 2014 | Tony Perkins

What’s the difference between a Playboy magazine and Fremont Unified School District’s sex-ed curriculum? The curriculum is free! The 9th grade textbook, which teachers unanimously approved, has been the center of a nationwide debate over the schools’ role in parenting kids on sensitive topics like this. In this particular California District, thousands of parents are protesting the jaw-dropping topics in the “Your Health Today” curriculum — including everything from bondage, sex toys, and various fantasies.

“It’s a bit much for me,” said mom Latonya Stevenson. “I’m not comfortable with my child — I mean, wow, that’s the graphics are extreme — oh my gosh.” Another parent said she was so shocked by the contents that she wrote to the author of the book, “and she said the target audience was college Freshman.”

An online petition against the curriculum had 2,500 signatures before this week’s board meeting — at which several moms and dads spoke in opposition of the proposal. “They are very pornographic,” one dad complained. “The pictures are very explicit.” After an emotional back-and-forth, the school board seemed to get the message and pushed back the timeline of implementation until at least next year, when there can be a broader conversation.

Although the victory isn’t a final one — it is a step in the right direction. We applaud these parents for showing some muscle and voicing their objections. Obviously, this is all part of a coordinated effort to sexualize kids. If this were really about protecting children — and not indoctrinating them — Fremont would be implementing the only sex ed with a 100% success rate: abstinence.

Interesting, since Fremont is over 50% asian, who are notoriously serious about education.

Welcome to Liberal-land! Trying to mentor young minds that this type of life style is ok...& setting them up for pedophiles!

..and they will continue to push this to lower grades and even younger minds...and make excuses that parents are not teaching their kids correctly...and therefore, the state school system has to...

Pathetic progressives!

Education is in trouble because funding is inadequate right? If teachers and the schools didn’t spend so much time degrading and indoctrinating students, there might be time, attention and energy for actual education. We need to spend less not more.

imagine teachers unanimously approving a 9th grade (age 14) textbook that would be get your computer tagged as viewing porno, held behind the counter in the library, and banned from being sold in military exchanges

“But Mom, I’m only reading it, not looking at the pictures”

If a grown man showed this to a nine year old girl in an alley, how long would he be in prison?

and yet they elected the school board?

Where do animals come from that think any part of this kind of thing is OK for children or anybody else for that matter.

I’m old but not that old. We managed to figure out sex on our own without any instructions. Many figured out more than enough to get themselves in deep trouble.

It appears liberals support the NAMBLA agenda of “Sex by eight is too late”. The perversions and depraved minds of liberals and NAMBLA now run the school text books. God help us as a nation

We found out everything without so much help from popular culture as is available today.

Today kids are saturated with the stuff from sunup to sundown - educators are idiots if they believe they are providing a needed service here.

Or maybe they're just good old fashioned perverts.

The problem is with the school board that suggested or promoted the book. I’m going to guess it has to be near SF. Some call this Progress, but I think we should look up towards progress, not towards spiraling down.

This is great for me—A Homeschool Teacher. As parents pull their children out of the swamp of public education—its more work for me.

Grooming the next generation to accept the sexual exploitation of children — as the next “civil rights cause of our time.”

California public schools have no respect for parents (who are paying taxes for this garbage)or students.

Why would parents send their kids to a school where they are disrespected and marginalized?

Good Lord how far we have fallen! Voicing their objections??? You’ve got to be kidding me! That pornography is deliberately being shown to CHILDREN en masse should say it all! Better a millstone be tied around these demonic shameless ‘educators’ necks and have them tossed into the sea!

I know there is nothing good about a pervert and I know they have been around since forever.

I do believe these members of the school board are sick perverted cretins though. How dare they! Why aren’t they being drug out of their ivory tower and runout of town on a rail, tarred and feathered. People used to do that before we got all PC and fell apart.

Exactly, we focus so much on the national political stage that small, local elections aren’t given much consideration yet the school board is a very powerful entity that could change the entire direction of its school. It seems that most who are elected are yes men to the administration, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Nothing happens in a school unless the school board approves it. They have the power to fire bad teachers and turn down bad curriculum, most just don’t because of who is elected.
