Obama's 'Post Foley' Golf Game Less About The Optics Of Leadership And More About A Disturbing Personal Coldness

As readers of this column know, I tend to favor the political and policy positions put forth by President Barack Obama and his administration.

That is not to say that, in the effort to provide an honest accounting of my opinions on the issues of the day, there have not been moments where I have found it necessary to criticize the White House when I disagree with their policies and strategies.

But that’s my job and I try to do the very best I can in doing that job.

However, never before have I felt the need to criticize our President for something that goes well beyond politics and policy—until today.

What I should be discussing this day are the President’s comments delivered yesterday regarding the heinous execution of American photojournalist James Foley; comments I found to be completely appropriate in that they conveyed strength, intelligence and a hint that we may have only just begun to deal with the scourge that is ISIL.

What I should also be writing about this day is the remarkable strength and grace we witnessed while watching the parents of James Foley who were nothing short of stunning and inspirational in their televised conversation with the press.

Instead, I find myself compelled to write about the President’s decision to keep his scheduled golf date with a couple of friends immediately following his televised comments—a decision that revealed a complete lack of class on Mr. Obama’s part.

“I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”

Nothing to see here. It's just Bammy being Zer0.

Then why would I take seriously anything that the author has to say?

He didn’t play the round of golf in honor of Michael Brown.

He’d just as coldly watch you beheaded, Rick Ungar, if it served the Party.

How does a guy with 50 handicap became president of anything?

Just like Ferguson became a story on steroids once those journalists were detained.

There was a tweet from a journalist during that event that explained that journalists had a higher level of constitutional rights than others. It was quickly removed and the guy retracted the statement, but that is the mindset of this group as a whole...that they have some sort of higher purpose than their fellow citizenry. Here’s another example.

Because most our electorate have a 60 handicap.

Actually one of the lefty ‘journalists’—was it Fineman?—commented yesterday that this was the only time he saw Obama take such an incident “personally”. He meant the comment very positively, as in suggesting that Obama was personally impacted by this savage, barbaric murder.

Of course, no one countered that, ‘If he took it personally, why the mad dash to the golf course immediately following his remarks?’

This is why television news ratings are low & journalists are distrusted. They say stupid stuff on air & nobody counters with the obvious.

I always find hypocrisy in area like hurricanes where the government forces everyone out but allows journalists to stay in the area to “report”. If they can stay to shoot pictures why can’t property owners stay and protect their stuff? Burns me every time I see one standing on a beach wall in a raincoat.

Same goes for war zones. Report yes, but I have no sympathy for those that get killed on the front lines or better yet out on their own trying to interview the enemy.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissism#Traits_and_signs

A 2012 popular book on power-hungry narcissists suggests that narcissists typically display most, and sometimes all, of the following traits:

An obvious self-focus in interpersonal exchanges
Problems in sustaining satisfying relationships
A lack of psychological awareness (see insight in psychology and psychiatry, egosyntonic)
Difficulty with empathy
Problems distinguishing the self from others (see narcissism and boundaries)
Hypersensitivity to any insults or imagined insults (see criticism and narcissists, narcissistic rage and narcissistic injury)
Vulnerability to shame rather than guilt
Haughty body language
Flattery towards people who admire and affirm them (narcissistic supply)
Detesting those who do not admire them (narcissistic abuse)
Using other people without considering the cost of doing so
Pretending to be more important than they really are
Bragging (subtly but persistently) and exaggerating their achievements
Claiming to be an “expert” at many things
Inability to view the world from the perspective of other people
Denial of remorse and gratitude

He doesn’t care. Africans like Obama’s Kenyan family have withering contempt for ghetto blacks in America. Talented tenths like Michelle’s family simply regard them as convenient foils who justify the affirmative action that the talented tenth alone profits from.

I take offense at your comment, “one of your own” — Foley and his personal mission, for which he gave his life, was for all the American people.
