......over a month after signing the controversial saggy pants ordinance, Ocala Mayor Kent Guinn said Tuesday he no longer supports it.....
His stance comes after criticism by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. The groups claims to be taking direct action against the city, which can mean a lawsuit, according to Dale Landry, with the NAACP Florida chapter.
"I'm sorry, it's going to be black males that are the subject of this," Landry said.

I was just curious if it was true?
You want to wear saggy pants, great, just don’t do it in Ocala.
I am here to make you admit it.

After all, the community can set their own standards.

Basically, for anything you think that “should be a law”,
you need to ask yourself if it is worth killing someone in order to make them comply,
because that’s what it comes down to -
the gov’t “bears the sword”.
That's a clear violation of the Constitution. I do not believe a municipality banning saggy pants, or public nudity for that matter is a violation of the Constitution.
It does NOT confer rights.

Guilty as charged. I believe if you are stupid enough to risk your life to wear saggy pants, you'll get what you deserve. However, in 99.999999999999999999% of cases, they will simply pull their pants up and move on.
You have a reputation for intellectual honesty for a reason.
I do disagree, though.
I don't think deadly force should be used if the majority of Ocala wants to keep people from driving during Friday afternoons.

It's an issue reasonable people can disagree on.
First they came for those with saggy pants. And I didn’t object, because I don’t wear saggy pants...
? /sarc ?
I leave it to the reader to decide.
Personally, I'm a fundamentalist law-and-order type. For me, law-and-order starts with asking what a valid role for government is, given that the only tool government has is force, including deadly force.

I'll die to get it and keep it.

Yup, helps employers sort out the morons at the front door, saves time for everybody. I work with manufacturers that are absolutely begging for qualified welders but one could show up dressed in this manner with all kinds of certifications and the employers would still take a pass. They don't want/need the hassle.
I find it entertaing this is the great issue for the NAACP.
Don’t notice them battling Obama over black unemployment, welfare dependence, or less regulation for black owned businesses...
Nope. The NAACP wants to battle a mayor over thugs’ fashion. Seeing a punk’s butt is what they care about.
Great, they're now unemployable and we end up paying for their welfare, and probably ultimately their prison stay.
We have seen these guys walking along holding up their pants with one hand going down the sidewalk. Its comical and it definitely makes you realize they will never take over. LOL!
And I should be free from paying for their welfare because they make themselves unemployable.
Now you end welfare and make these bums work when they inevitably go to prison, then I might come over to your side.
So True!!
