“It is my belief that liberals are complicit - deliberately - in the destruction of the black community over the last 45 years. Every policy they support, every attitude they support, is self-destructive.”

I agree. Look how liberals refer to rap and graffiti as art.

That’s NOT by the thug. It’s my parody of an old song by ‘War’.
Considering the subject of the thread, any confusion is all my fault.

Well, if his own mother didn’t give a damn...

I am so tired of hearing how this “THUG” is being sanctified. This “THUG” didn’t belong in normal society. If he didn’t get killed when he did, he’d probably have been killed another time. These riots occurring in Ferguson has absolutely nothing to do with this killing. Oh, they’ll use this thug’s death as an excuse, but the thought of rioting and looting is endemic to these people. The state of Missouri could have nipped this the first few days, but they didn’t have the cojones to do so. I remember in the 50’s when the city of Corpus Christie was hit by a hurricane. After the storm passed, there was a lot of rioting and looting. The then Governor of Texas made this announcement; “STARTING TOMORROW MORNING, ALL LOOTERS AND RIOTERS WILL BE SHOT”. The looting and rioting stopped immediately.

Thanks. One of the songs had a quote about “The last shall be first. Whites on bottom.”

I wondered how that correlates with the teachings of the New Black Panthers so I googled it. Here’s what I found that was quite interesting:

http://books.google.com/books?id=_tNQAwAAQBAJ&pg=PA29&lpg=PA29&dq=New+Black+Panthers,+last+shall+be+first&source=bl&ots=DNZvAfiK_i&sig=7ukzrTqnFiC6imyJIXmV6S9mTRM&hl=en&sa=X&ei=kA30U6vLAaOf8AG91oDYCQ&ved=0CCQQ6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q=New%20Black%20Panthers%2C%20last%20shall%20be%20first&f=false

It’s page 29 of “Liberation, Imagination, and the Black Panther Party...” and it talks about the need for the urban revolution (to liberate blacks) to start with the “lumpen proletariat” - the brothers on the block, and how the first can’t become last without violent revolution. Etc

I REALLY wonder the connections that Michael Brown and his buddies had with the New Black Panthers...

not too long ago they took the misogynist rantings of a mentally disturbed autistic boy and pretended he represented ALL men in his attitude towards women.
It resulted in the twitter #yesallwomen

imagine if you applied the same rules to this situation

Lying by omission and implication:

In the neighborhood around the worn Canfield Green Apartments, 18-year-old Michael Brown was known as a young man with some potential.

He indeed had potential. He was huge and not afraid to shove shop keepers around. Like he was doing when he robbed the liquor store.

His peers around him struggled to hold jobs and had multiple run-ins with the law, but Brown had graduated from high school and was headed for community college.

This sentence begs the reader to infer that Brown was not the kind to have run ins with the law. However it does not offer any evidence of it other than maybe suggesting that graduating high school was unusual. While the drop out rate in his school was high, most graduated. On the other hand, the video of him robbing a liquor store reveals that the LA Times is knowingly trying to paint a false picture of him. Perhaps out of respect for the dead, sympathy for his family, or fear of how irrational bigoted mobs might react.

And he had another ambition: his music.

Its good to have an ambition other than being a thug. Its too bad that he chose to continue being a thug and got himself killed as one. Sadly he is not likely to be the last person into rap music to do so.

“I’ll chop you up with a machete...”

Glad he was put down before he could harm my children (or anyone else’s, for that matter).

There is also information circulating on the Internet that Michael R Brown had other felony charges against him and was scheduled for court in September. I wasn't able to verify if it was the same Michael Brown or not. I couldn't find his middle name and the address given for the Michael R Brown was Troy Missouri.

But I doubt the video in the shop was his first crime. We know his friend had charges against pending.

Yes, he was bad news. Glad he didn’t hurt more people before being put down, and I sympathize with the cop (but that’s what he’s paid for - animal control officers...).

First murder after the verdict in the area. I hope it wasn’t someone on the jury.
