Two St. Louis city police officers shot and killed a black man who came within several feet of them brandishing a knife on Tuesday in a confrontation a few miles from the turbulent suburb of Ferguson, authorities said.

Are you willing to get close enough to a knife-wielding individual to make sure you get the mace in the most effective spot? Not to mention the fact that it might not have any effect on him.

I guess blacks just want victims to just ‘take dey whoopin’ instead of responding to potentially deadly force with deadly force.

A knife can be a very lethal weapon.
If your weapon is holstered - a perp may cut you if he starts charging you at 25 -30 ft - before you can draw, aim,fire.
If your weapon is drawn and ready the perp may cut you from 10 ft.
With a knife No Reloading required.
Looks like one of those copy cat crimes.
You don’t answer a deadly weapon with a non-deadly weapon unless you have no choice.
Besides tasers don’t always work. If one of the darts hits a button or something in a pocket, no effect.
To go completely off topic, when my daughter was very young she wanted to know what the people on the TV were chanting, and I told her that they were saying that they wouldn't eat their peas unless they could listen to Justin Timberlake first. (Mother, who would not have let Father get away with it, was not in the room.) Daughter was young enough at the time to believe anything her father said; within a year she was able to tell the difference between when Daddy was being serious and when he was pulling her leg.

He got within 3 or 4 feet of the cops before they shot him. I have seen episodes of Cops where drugged out loons were tasered repeatedly and they kept on coming.

Yep, it’s getting to be like Atlanta where even the suburbs aren’t safe. The St. Louis paper routinely whines that there aren’t enough black fans or players at Cardinal’s games. Feeling oppressed is a career for some people.

If you are going to shoot reflexively at a person charging at you, you are most likely going to hitthe person’s torso. Arnokd doing the leg shots in Terminator 2 has no basis in reality.
Not to mention other people. There’s zero guarantee that killing a cop will make the person magically stop killing people.
Unbelievably, liberal organizers have set up voter registration booths at the site where Missouri teenager Michael Brown was shot and killed by a local police officer.
I’m sure he was just crossing the street when two bored cops decided to execute him.
