Just getting us ready for the day individual ownership of vehicles is verboten. You must ride state approved fleets. Or walk.

Watch, it'll work out exactly the way things went under the Nazis in prewar Germany. Now that they've hired a party member with good connections all the lawsuits and problems will start to fade away.

Well, there goes Uber’s credibility. Plouffe is one of the biggest pieces of cr@p walking the planet.

Smart move. Uber is getting the most pushback from anti-free market libs.

Union busting the dimocrat way.... do it through the venture socialists in government.

Private drivers working for a taxi company-who do not own their cab but must pay a day rental rate to the company before they earn the first penny- one’s most of us have spoken with— these people are being screwed by both the company they work for and by these venture socialists.

The fact is that the taxi companies are quite capable of lowering rates.. but don’t for many interlocking reasons. In some cities there is a cartel that keeps the rates locked in.

Enter the venture socialists. Put in office by the venture union thugs selling out their own people.

Do you think old line demos will take note of this? Not on your life. They are professional scammers feeding at a political trough.

They don't haul cars, they compete against taxis.

Yep the business “model” is.... register online with them, let them have a credit card number (safe-—not!) and boom, there ya go.

You register and call them online to get some dude or dudette in their own private car (of supposedly safety checked variety) and a “screened” driver- maybe yes, maybe no.

All for enterprise but someone should point out to the thug demo union people how “their” party is supporting this. For reasons of electoral swing to conservatives who want them to keep more of what they earn, despite union leadership electing these a-holes. Plouffe the poof. And, don’t forget a clintonite also.

Senior vice president of policy and strategy”

Uber has money being literally thrown at them by the millions, by Wall Street, and they need someone to navigate the political minefields they have created.

(ie. Buy local politicians)

For some reason, I can see these drivers taking folks to the polls...maybe twice ;) All paid for with our tax $$, of course.

Wake me up, from another HopenChange vision.

I do believe the taxi drivers in Houston raised a stink about Uber. The City Council and the Mayor got involved and now Uber has to follow the same rules and regs as the taxi drivers.

You register and call them online to get some dude or dudette in their own private car (of supposedly safety checked variety) and a “screened” driver- maybe yes, maybe no.

Payments are via PayPal. The driver's photo is included along with vehicle information. Drivers are not tipped, can't accept them. Drivers are tipped by rating them strictly on service. Customers are rated, as well.

The drivers (well, a device, anyway) are tracked to show you who the closest is. You can select a driver based on location proximity to you.

Rates are published.

A friend of mine at work uses them exclusively over taxis. Taxis in our area are anything but clean and nice. The drivers are not always friendly, either. My friend's experience with Uber is quite the opposite.

Also, on top of all of that, you can pay for an upgrade to the type of vehicle you want (somewhat like a limo service).

So, you can see who should be picking you up, there is an electronic record of it, should anything happen, and you don't have to carry cash. Works for some, not for others. Isn't that the way it should be?

Interesting theory….but I”m thinking, most cabs who will be hurt by this are in unionized corrupt kick back cab companies. In other words, the Democrat base businesses will be killed by this. Fun to watch liberal on liberal crime….

Beats NYC situation hands down. But the issue is the political connex vs. what is bs’d to the union thugs supporting the current regime, that then provides cover for this type of service. Been in some pretty crappy cabs over the years so I can see the appeal.

Bingo-— Wall St. vs. main street and main street union types are being scammed. The “other” economy provided to the venture socialists... with our money thrown at the “startup” while the hedge funds work the other side. sweet deal. Nice work if you can get it.
