To cleanse the palate, via the Corner, a debate between a conservative who’s a world-renowned neurosurgeon and a liberal who often appears to speak English as a second language is a debate conservatives should welcome. Plus, the moment seems propitious. As usual, Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have followed the media to the scene of a new racial flashpoint, but this time it hasn’t turned out for them as they’d like. Jackson allegedly got booed when he asked a crowd in Ferguson for donations while Sharpton’s taken criticism in highly visible outlets — some of it polite, some less so — for exploiting the situation. If America, black and white, has Sharpton fatigue, now’s the time to raise Carson’s profile by taking advantage.
Sharpton, by the way, claims that Carson has a standing invitation to appear on his show but that’s easier said than done. Since Carson’s a Fox News contributor, he’d need the network’s permission to do Sharpton’s show, and why would Fox do MSNBC a ratings favor like that? Let’s see a real debate, all proceeds to charity. Here’s Carson issuing the challenge plus a sneak preview of Sharpton’s opening statement.

Why do I think this will never happen?
The last time Sharpton debated anyone, he had his hair in a bouffant , was in a sweatsuit and was calling the other participant in the debate a “punk faggot.”
I haven’t seen anything impolite posted or said.
Perhaps the long overdue backlash against the for-profit race pimps has finally begun.
I just hope Al and Jesse stay in the field right up through November. Of course, Jesse will have to take time off to see junior on visiting day!
Sharpton is not a debater. He is an arguer and an agitator.

As someone who speaks English as a second language, I would better categorize Al Sharpton as someone who speaks English as a moron.
You cannot rationalize with irrational or radicalized people. That includes the “converted” or the “true believers”, and you definitely cannot rationalize with their enablers.
Face it, the honest, law abiding people of the US are being backed into a corner by these radical elements trying to take over our country, and we are fast running out of corner to crowd into.

In my experience as a debater and debate judge, it would not be a lot of fun to watch. It would be kind of like watching some solid major league sluggers against Little League pitching. It is hard to hit a home run when the pitcher can’t get it over the plate, and winning on walks isn’t much fun.
And of course, Sharpton only has to appeal to his own followers, so he wouldn’t debate at all.
