Well, it is NJ. Did the cops also confiscate all edged weapons/items in the house.

Should there be a limit to the amount of liberty you can lose?

Yes.

No American needs more ammunition than they can pay for!

NO, it’s still a free country, well partially anyway. If I want to fill my entire house with ammunition and can afford to do so, what of it!

Should there be a limit to number of cars, homes or shoes someone can own?

How about a limit on the amount of food you can own?

Not according to the Marxist regime.

I hate imprecise reporting.

Terms like “massive.” Has no meaning.

5 pounds. 100 pounds. 10,000 pounds.

I bet the article eventually refers to an arsenal or bunker or compound.

Next, they will find child porn on his computer, and a tea party membership.

NO!
Should there be a limit on how many cars you can have?

Jeez you can only drive one at a time.

Should there be a limit on how much horsepower your vehicle can have?
How big your house can be?

I know of no limitation on ammunition in New Jersey.

Could be he had a lot of powder, for reloading, and they considered it an explosive.

Of course, once they decide they want you, they will make up the law to suit. We live in a post-legal environment.

There should be a limit on the amount of BS the government dishes out daily. Ammo should have no limits other than what one can afford to purchase or barter.

NJ has already demonstrated that no matter the initial limits set, the fascists will always strive to lower the limit until NONE is allowed.

The sad thing is, all those have been discussed by our government.

"confiscated it in accordance with protocol."

But what about when protocol is at odds with the law and the rights of the individual? Wordsmithing is very dangerous.

Physical limit to how much ammunition you can own - your financial resources, then the amount of physical storage in which the arsenal may be placed, that can be relied upon to preserve the product in good order.

If you have to haul it out ten years from now, you want to be reasonably certain it will fire.

Officers with the Bergen County Police Department bomb squad, township police and county sheriff’s crime scene unit carried out what appeared to be more than 30 pounds of black gunpowder, the chief said. The canisters were assembled on the front yard and photographed by investigators before being loaded into a pickup truck.

The sheer amount of gunpowder was illegal and could pose a danger to the neighborhood, the chief said. Charges were expected stemming from the quantity of gunpowder.
