Autopsy question
vanity

Posted on 08/18/2014 5:36:00 PM PDT by airedale

I have a question about the autopsy info we currently know. Based upon where the bullets hit Brown is there any way to tell which way he would most probably fall if 1. if standing up facing officer with hands up 2. Kneeling hands up or at sides facing officer 3. Bum rising the officer with head down. The bullet that hit top of head would have killed him instantly

My own guess to the most probable body position because of the impact of the bullets are 1. On back or side with indications of falling backwards 2. Same as number 1 with higher probability of landing on side. 3. Face down with maybe one leg bent as if running. Momentum because of the forward motion would have overcome the impact of the bullet. Blood trail beyond initial splatter would trail behind if the person had some speed when shot because even though dead after head shot the body would have continued forward.

I'm not a hunter, police or M.E. so I haven't the slightest idea. I also suspect that no matter what the starting position when shot there is some probability of landing in any position just some body positions are more probable than others

If it was a .40, Wilson was probably using 180-grain rounds with an average muzzle energy of 400 foot pounds. A 9MM 147-grain round would come in a bit lower, at around 325 foot pounds. A bit of a difference, but nothing dramatic. Now, a .357 Mag would generate about 550 foot pounds of energy, and that is impressive; however, I don’t think any LE outfit uses that anymore: They all seem to have gone semi-auto.

That’s right.

I’m certainly not an expert but I’ve been to several autopsies and seen many pictures from autopsies and shooting scenes. It looks to me like Brown was running forward with his right arm in front of him, or at an angle with the right side of his body forward, in what I’d say was a defensive position.

I’ve seen defensive wounds on hands and arms from shootings and stabbings that suggest similar. Especially on the hands.

I’m sure this autopsy was heavily documented with photo’s, video, etc. Won’t be much left of Brown, they probably carved him up like a Thanksgiving turkey.

How would that be legal for the family to go first? Their doctor removed bullets.

Wouldn’t defense be entitled to an impartial state autopsy first before the body is touched by anyone else?

Having Big Mike running at you is probably like having Big Foot running at you. I think lead just gets poured on as one does when a bear charges, and who’s aiming?

No. Except for gravitational force...which would mean a likely fall in a downward direction.

As far as I know, or heard, the State of Missouri Coroner/ME did the first autopsy, then the family examiner. After the State does their autopsy they release the body to the family.

I think this trial is going to be the battle of the ‘experts’ against the State ME. A real circus.

I thought the county had already completed their autopsy and I would think they would have removed the bullets.

If the family's examiner removed the bullets that would be disturbing.

If the last bullet hit him in the top front of his head, that would mean his head was lowered for one of two reasons: 1) he was falling forward from previous injuries, or 2) he was rushing with his head lowered to make a tackle. In either case his center of mass is forward of his feet. He falls forward.

IMHO the autopsy results support the claim from the officer that Brown was bum-rushing him. That would explain the bullet to the top of the head.

I’ve been waiting on just such a video to show up. However I doubt one exists. Consider how many videos involving cops today. And not one person in this area had the bammyphone out and recording?? It’s my guess that video that really showed what happened has been deleted.

I was thinking the same thing. In fact, I heard he had a fractured eye socket. Rumor, I know.

I think this trial...

I predict a no bill. Gov better keep the NG on alert or the whole place will burn.

It’s hard to see how the wounds to the arm could happen if Brown was shot while holding them up. People don’t raise their arms directly over their head, but hold them a bit to either side. If the officer was bent on killing Brown, why would he fire the first three shots so far up and away?

He also could have been falling forward from the previous hit to his head near the eye when the top head shot hit. In that case the top head shot would have likely been the last to hit.

Most of the wounds are on his right side from the front - looks to me as though he was rushing toward the officer who was trying to “wing” him and stop his progress - probably shot in the forehead as he finally toppled forward just before getting to the officer - one thing’s for sure - he wasn’t shot in the back trying to get away from the officer......

No “rumor” about it, Mr. Brown was shot in the right eye, I imagine that was the shot that preceded the head shot. If you look around, you can find Baden's autopsy pics (money grubby, sanctimonious, glory seeking and TOTALLY gratuitous) showing the points of impact.
