County investigation: Michael Brown was shot from the front, had marijuana in his system

Michael Brown was shot in the head and chest multiple times, according to Mary Case, the St. Louis County medical examiner.

While Case declined to comment further, citing the ongoing investigation into Brown’s death, another person familiar with the county’s investigation told The Washington Post that Brown had between six and eight gunshot wounds and was shot from the front.

In addition, Brown had marijuana in his system when he was shot and killed by a police officer on Aug. 9 in Ferguson, according to this person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation.

The report from Case’s office was released to the St. Louis County prosecutor’s office on Friday night but has not been made public. This report is part of the county’s official investigation into the shooting, but it is one of three autopsies being conducted.

Brown’s family and attorneys also requested its own autopsy, which was carried out by Michael Baden, a medical examiner who released preliminary details from his review on Monday.

In anticipation that Brown would be potentially vilified by the results of the drug test, conduct as a routine part of the autopsy, protesters have consistently insisted that Officer Wilson should be required to submit one as well.

“What was in the system of that cop when he was pumping bullets into that boy’s body?” asked a protest leader, shouting into a megaphone, during a rally on Friday afternoon.

Residents and protesters have noted that allegations of marijuana use have been used in the past by some in an attempt to disparage the character of shooting victims, including in the Trayvon Martin case.

Agreed on both counts. I don’t care about the marijuana in his system. High alcohol levels would be a far more relevant piece of data to predict aggressive behavior.

My wife is a dispatcher for the local PD. This white guy was causing a scene at a McDonald’s and a Marine had him in a choke hold and refused to let this guy go until the police showed up. When the police showed up they told the Marine to let him go. He then started in on the police. They tased him twice to no avail. It took 6 cops to finally bring him down. I wish people like you would join the police force so we can have kinder gentler cops, because they would be dead cops.

How about the guy that was with him? Isn't he an accessory to theft and assault. He lied to the police about the shooting and may be an accessory to the death of his partner in crime. Is he getting a free pass?

The police chief(?) said that he is not getting arrested for theft. However, I would suspect that they are holding something over his head (assuming that there is still due process in this country -- an assumption that is looking increasingly shaky). I would imagine obstruction charges are a possibility, and I would not rule out the possibility that the felony murder rule would apply (the robbery appeared to be second-degree robbery -- a felony; and the death occurred as the pair were getting away from the crime, albeit in slow motion).

But none of this matters, unless the low-information, naive, yet generally good-hearted citizens of this country (the soccer moms, the working poor, etc.) are made aware that this was clearly a justified shooting, clearly a case of self-defense, and the media/race pimps/agitators/leeches/looters are complicit in what amounts to an attempted murder.

Conservatives must not be shy about letting everyone know what the evidence here says, and who is responsible, not just for the shooting, but the aftermath as well.

There’s been a number of cops who tried to subdue a large male by tasering and ended up dead when the perp withstood the taser charge, overpowered the cop, and took the cop’s gun and shot him.

Did you see the Video of Cliven Bundy's son yanking the tazer barbs out of his chest and charging the BLM agent? When a guy is big enough and mad enough a tazer won't cut it. It's a one-shot deal too if you're a lone officer.

Pepper spray is even more useless against a real fighter.
