Rick Perry And The Democrats’ Pattern Of “Lawfare” Against Rising Republicans
Powerline ^ | April 16, 2013 | PAUL MIRENGOFF

Posted on 08/17/2014 2:10:27 PM PDT by Hojczyk

John and Scott have commented on the indictment of Gov. Rick Perry. As they note, it fits a pattern of politically motivated indictments of prominent Texas Republicans.

The Perry indictment also fits a pattern of harassment via the legal process of prominent Republican governors: Sarah Palin, Scott Walker, Chris Christie, and now Perry.

What do these four have in common? Why, they all are (or were) potentially viable candidates for the national office.

Invocation of the legal process against Christie may well be warranted. (So too with Bob McDonnell, whom I didn’t include in my list because, although once vaguely mentioned as a possible presidential candidate, his prospects never approached those of the other four). In the cases of Palin, Walker, and Perry, the charges seem plainly to have been ginned up in the hope of derailing the governors’ prospects for national office.

This sort of thing is standard operating procedure in countries like Russia and China. Now it is becoming part of the Democrats’ playbook.

However, America remains a two party country. And two parties can play the same game.

Attacking rising Democrats through bogus legal proceedings is a game Republicans shouldn’t play under any circumstances. It seems inevitable, however, that Republicans sooner or later will retaliate in this fashion.

There aren’t many promising Democratic governors. But Julian Castro served three terms as mayor of San Antonio. Now he’s been elevated to the cabinet and is being groomed as a possible vice presidential candidate in 2016. He aspires, no doubt, to become the third installment in the Democrats’ identity presidency trilogy (Obama, Clinton, Castro).

You can tell this whole “ham sandwich indictment” fiasco is politically motivated. Barry’s state controlled “media” is already trying to pimp the prosecutor as being some kind of a freaky weird “republican”. A dead giveaway that this “indictment” is nothing but a bunch of commie ‘RAT bull****.

One of Hitler's early focuses was on law school students. He turned a generation of German lawyers into a legal weapon of nazification.

Just sayin'.

It just occurred to me why aren’t we indicting everyone who “coerced” Richard Nixon into resigning? How about Senator Toricelli in NJ being “coerced” to drop out of an election?

They sent someone right after the 2012 election to tell Petraeus he had to resign, and they did that because he wasn’t playing ball on Beghazi.

In those cases it worked. This democrat embarrassment kept her job.

Why shouldn’t they use lawfare? Republicans won’t do a darn thing about it, especially not Republican leaders.

“...(sop) in countries like Russia and China. Now it is becoming part of the Democrats’ playbook.”

Where do you think the Democrats’ playbook came from? The Comintern (now re-branded as the Socialist International) owns and operates the Democrat party, and has done do for at least half a century.

It wouldn’t work in a Republican-indicts-Democrat situation.

The MSM would immediately turn it around and make it a political/bigoted/racist attack against an innocent public servant.

This is the Democratic party of Barack Obama: if you wanna win, create a scandal

DURBIN COLLUDES W/ LOIS LERNER IRS disgrace, Lois Lerner, once held a position at the Federal Election Commission. She was helpful to Senate candidate Dick Durbin (Dem-Ill). Lerner used her FEC position to help save Durbin’s US Senate seat back in 1996.

Lerner used her FEC govt position and tax dollars to conduct a bogus inquisition into Durbin's opponent for alleged election law violations ....creating a shady charge against Durbin's opponent. And it worked. Dicky triumphed and was returned to the Senate.

Fast forward to 2014---Dicky Durbin's running again---considered a shoo-in. But he should start worrying. As far back as 2008, at the presidential debate in Nashville, candidate Obama advanced his signature plan that was ultimately enacted (by an historic straight Democrat party-line vote) into the "Affordable Care Act:

QUOTING OBAMA: "No. 1, let me just repeat, if you’ve got a health care plan that you like, you can keep it. All I’m going to do is help you to lower the premiums on it. You’ll still have choice of doctor.”

Repeated over and over ---- with the "presidential promise" that every American would be saving $2500.00 on healthcare costs.

SEN. RICHARD DURBIN SALUTES SMARTLY: “We Democrats believe — and we stand by this — if you like your current health insurance plan, you will be able to keep it, plain and simple, straightforward.” (Sen. Durbin, Congressional Record, S.6401, 6/10/09)

VOTERS HAVE NOT SEEN SUCH LOCK-STEPPING PARTY LOYALTY SINCE 1930-40's ERA EUROPE

=============================================

ANN COULTER FLASHBACK ---HOW OBAMA GOT INTO OFFICE--OBAMA'S SIGNATURE MOVE: UNSEALING PRIVATE RECORDS

August 1, 2012---Mitt Romney presented one enormous problem for the Obama campaign team---all of them kingpins in Chicagoland criminal politics: No Romney divorce records. They were hot to get their hands on Romney's tax records for the past 25 years. They need something to "pick through, distort and lie about" -- (luckily Lois Lerner was on-call).

Obama's usual campaign method, used in 100 percent of his races, has been to pry into the private records of his opponents. Obama became a U.S. senator only by virtue of his top aid---made-man David Axelrod's former employer was the Chicago Tribune---handy for ripping open court-sealed divorce records of Obama's two principal opponents.

One month before the 2004 Democratic primary for the US Senate, Obama was down in the polls, about to lose to Blair Hull, a multimillionaire securities trader. But then the Chicago Tribune leaked the claim that Hull's second ex-wife, Brenda Sexton, had sought an order of protection against him during their 1998 divorce proceedings.

Those records were under seal, but as The New York Times noted: "The Tribune reporter who wrote the original piece later acknowledged in print that the Obama camp had 'worked aggressively behind the scenes' to push the story." Many people said Axelrod had "an even more significant role -- that he leaked the initial story."

Both Hull and his ex-wife opposed releasing their sealed divorce records, but they finally relented in response to the media's hysteria -- 18 days before the primary. Hull was forced to spend four minutes of a debate detailing the abuse allegation in his divorce papers, explaining that his ex-wife "kicked me in the leg and I hit her shin to try to get her to not continue to kick me."

W/ a substantial lead just a month before the primary, Hull's campaign collapsed with the chatter about his divorce. Obama sailed to the front of the pack and won the primary. Hull finished third with 10 percent of the vote.

And that is exactly where the danger is. There’s a point where people become so pissed they embrace something beyond the law. Small business is already there. Rank and file aren’t far behind.

Time to address The New Slavery— those who work to support both those who (paid with public monies)do nothing but criticize them and regulate them), and those who draw funds (paid with public monies) for doing nothing.

It’s here, and the resolution will be nasty and ugly.

The GOP “leaders” in DC and conservative media bear no small measure of guilt in this for failing to stand up.

Wish it was different, but I do not see how.

There aren’t many promising Democratic governors, thank god.....Julian Castro is a three-term mayor of San Antonio, Texas. Now Obama's elevated Castro to the cabinet and he is being groomed as Hillary's possible VP pick.

UGH---Hillary and smirking Castro said to be discussing his plans for higher office---the pic to end Hillary's 2016 plans.

====================================================

Was Castro speaking from The La Raza Bank---that is to say HUD? Castro is Obama's appointee HUD--now known as the La Raza Bank---withdrawls only. ================================================

BEWARE THE CASTROS (1) US Cong Joaquin Castro, (2) his identical twin brother, ex-Mayor Julian Castro--heads HU), and, (3) their mother---Maria “Rosie” Castro--a hardline La Raza activist.

Castro warned Speaker Boehner WRT holding up comprehensive immigration reform.....so I guess deferring amnesty will put the kibosh to the ambitious Castro family's violent, separatist plans for America, thank God.

God only knows the tax dollars these three have confiscated for the blood-thirsty La Raza.

BACKSTORY Castro---2012 Democrat convention keynoter---genially introduced the mother, Maria “Rosie” Castro to the convention-goers. Mamasita Castro is a radical ethnocentric, anti-assimilationist....a key figure in the activities of the blood-thirsty, tax-funded “La Raza."

(Castro is mentioned as a possible 2016 Dem VP candidate---and has been photed w/ Hillary.)

====================================================

AMERICANS ARE ALREADY FUNDING MAMASITA CASTRO'S HATE-FILLED ORGANIZATION: In 2005 alone, $7.9 million in taxpayer funding was given to La Raza charter schools in the form of US Dept of Education grants.

LA RAZA schools stress Latino culture, the Spanish language, the re-conquest of the American Southwest, the establishment of the mythical Atzlan on US soil, and even Aztec math.

In addition to using taxpayer funds to enforce the teaching of murder and violence in US public schools, the federally-funded La Raza organization operates 100 charter schools across America.

LA RAZA TEACHES HATE-AMERICA WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS La Raza Studies do not even try to sugar-coat its anti-America agenda and its bloodthirsty plans to kill off Americans: Raza Studies textbook “Occupied America,” by Rodolfo Acuña, includes a violent and blood-curdling speech given by university professor Jose Angel Gutierrez: “We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is, if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him,” (pg. 323). The following is taken directly from La Raza's Occupied America: “.......execute all white males over age 16,” (p 167--AKA the Plan of San Diego).

===============================================

La Raza also got Democrat Congressional earmarks and tax dollars for "mortgage counseling." The super-secret Congressional Hispanic Caucus calculatedly launched a housing initiative called "HOGAR"-- Spanish for home. Conspiracy and collusion were the watchwords....... race-based "La Raza" was given tax dollars and Congressionsl earmarks to finance its so-called mortgage activities. La Raza's "strategic partnerships” with Wachovia and Bank of America forced the falsifications of mortgage-application and the dumbing down of mtge requirements and documentation standards.......which caused taxpayers to be socked w/ billions in bailouts as the US economy tanked.

La Raza aided and abetted risky federal and private-home loans to latinos over the last decade. thanks to the lending industry’s version of “don’t ask, don’t tell.”

In addition to millions of federal tax dollars, La Raza also collected a $1 million Democratic earmark that funded “community-development” projects. Analysts report that much of it went to "mortgage counseling."

(waiting for hysterical laughter to die down)

Well, you have a point. The Republican House and Senate have had several chances to strip this office it power and never passed legislation.

This pattern of "lawfare" by 'Rats against political opponents is nothing new. It's been going on as far back as the Franklin D. Roosevelt administration (victims included Philadelphia Inquirer publisher Moses Annenberg and former Treasury Secretary Andrew Mellon) , and probably long before that as well. The target need not be a high political officeholder or office seeker. (e.g., Linda Tripp), nor is criminal indictment and prosecution the only method used; sometimes it is executive branch action against the opposition (e.g., current IRS scandal) or fixing the outcome of a civil case against the enemy, And it can occur at federal, state, county, or local levels, all around the country, sometimes more than one level involved at the same time.

So while all these tactics are odious, they are not a modern-day phenomenon, contrary to what the author of the posted article seems to be saying. The only cure for these quasi-legal atrocities is telling the truth and exposing the tyrants for what they are.
