Gene Simmons Wins Argument with HuffPo Host over Speaking '[expletive] English'
Breitbart's Big Hollywood ^ | August 15, 2014 | Tony Lee

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

This week, KISS rocker Gene Simmons not only embraced assimilation and the importance of English for immigrants to succeed, he gave a textbook example of how to successfully--and forcefully--do so on hostile turf.

He did so with no apologies--and plenty of compassion.

In an entertaining interview on HuffPostLive, Simmons said he was "given all the advantages of native-born children" after coming to the country when he was eight years of age, which he said was "astonishing" compared to other nations.

Why? Because he learned "[expletive] English" and embraced America's melting pot instead of separatism (salad bowl).

"I'm actually saying the thing that needs to be said because the politically correct climate is bulls**t," Simmons said. "You don't want to upset anybody by saying, 'Learn to speak [expletive] English.' So, as an immigrant, I'm telling you: Learn to speak [expletive] English. It is the key that will unlock the keys to the kingdom. If you make the effort, then all the possibilities of this culture will open up for you and give you all the rewards that I've gotten.

He said immigrants must "agree to one culture that we can all communicate with and then go off and speak Swahili and Farsi and whatever you want to talk.”

“In America I’ve learned you have an inferred fiduciary duty to learn how to speak English,” he said. “Get rid of your accent. I did. Be a legal immigrant. I’m a legal immigrant. Come to the country, just buckle your knees a little bit, make the effort to learn the culture, assimilate to the point that you can, you are all proud of who you are and where you come from... great, whatever you are proud of, just tip your hat to America. which is the melting pot that makes it all possible."(continued)

I’ve heard him quite often and he’s a good business man and did a great job of raising his 2 kids (with the help of his girlfriend, who he later married). He was on a fairly new program on FNC last week, “Outnumbered”, which I’ve liked, so far. He talked a bit about assimilation as well as how women should be treated. He said they should be treated like princesses, doors should be opened for them, they should be respected, etc. I’ve heard Paul Stanley on FNC in the past few months, too (Fox & Friends IIRC). He and Gene never did drugs (not sure if Paul drinks but I know that Gene said he never did). They kicked one or more members out of the band for doing drugs.

I wasn’t in to their music when they first came out but got into it a little in the mid to late 90s and even went to one of their concerts (which was pretty good btw). They were elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year.

I have no idea what Kiss stands for if anything. I could never get past the outfits they wore and the tongue Simmons would display that belonged on a reptile of some sort. He talks sense about America in a lot of ways and I did watch his series. Their music I listened to to very little and did not care for it.

I did think the outfits were demonic but I also saw that Kiss tapped into a niche in the music market no one had thought of. The young at that time were stupid and have not changed. I blame the parents for not introducing them to Christ. My generation has a lot of explaining to do when the time comes.

KISS members opened up a rock-n-roll restaurant near us that has a play area on the inside patio. I haven’t been able to go there yet, but when I drive by, I see happy children.

This has been proven so many times.

But there is no better example of the hypocrisy of the left than California in the mid-70’s.

With the influx of Asians into California schools, following the end of the Vietnam war, the state Education Czar, Bill Honig, asked his “Expert” how best to assimilate these people.

As it turns out, this “Expert” was a rabid proponent of bi-lingual education for Mexicans.

However, in the case of the Asian immigrants, without any hesitation or hint of irony, he was adamant that FULL ENGLISH IMMERSION WAS THE ONLY REASONABLE SOLUTION.

LOL! As though one can’t simultaneously know Christ and be a Kiss fan.

(Note: I’m neither a Christian nor a Kiss fan, but a big fan of false dichotomies.)

Some of our grandparents, and great-grandparents, came from somewheres else, and when they got here, they took it upon themselves to learn to ‘speak American’, but kept ‘the old language’ inside the house. But if one of the family slipped, and spoke ‘the old language’ on the street, they got a talking to, or rather at, real quick, being reminded that ‘they live in America now’.

In today’s America, the American language is so slaughtered, without reprisal by those of similar origin, that it is an instant headache to even attempt to listen to one evoke it.

2DV you can get oil of clove at drug stores, I usually
keep a little bottle in the med chest just for toothache.
Hope this helps. Good luck with the dentist.
Just put some on your finger or a Q-tip and place it
on the tooth or gum. Really works.

Simmons is quite good at promotion and business management. A rock group with garish makeup and outfits? It'll never work. Oh, wait.....

"Leave my brother alone."

I remember Bush calling for illegals to learn english if they wish to advance in this country. It more than just learn english many illegals fall back on what the laws in their country are as to what the laws are this country are. Then they don’t understand why the police stop me and take me to jail for no license/insurance.I work hard why you punish me ??Then complain when the laws start equally applying to them.Obama open the flood gates many Illegals can careless what Gene has to say..They are here under their terms, not ours.

Hell no!

Rock and roll happened in the 50s and 60s...Chuck Barry, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis etc. Most of the stuff since then is just rock, which is lesser.

Air supply is "soft rock", "rock ballad"...or just plain moosh.
