On February_27, 2001, during Seattle's Mardi_Gras celebration, a riot broke out in the Pioneer_Square area of the city.The chief of police ordered the police at the scene not to intervene, supposedly because he feared escalation of the violence.
- Most of the violence was due to roving groups of African Americans singling out white victims and viciously assaulting them.
- One victim, Kris_Kime, died of his injuries after he stepped in to assist a woman being brutally assaulted.
- General acts of disorder, however, seemed to be spread across all demographic groups.
- Multiple sexual assaults were also reported.

On my opinion what it did was say to the rioters/looters ...’Yes, you are right, all the Ferguson cops are racist and can’t be trusted.’
How do they ever expect to put that police force back in charge?
I’ll bet all the businesses will close and the city will be written off as a ghetto within two years.

I would say the answer is to have a smaller, less highly paid police force and return to deputization of the citizens in a crisis - starting with those who have prior law enforcement experience.
More people with skin in the game, and moving 180 degrees away from having a governing class.

Because, your failure to observe whatever is later stated by ‘the police’ to be what they said, contrary to what in your recollection seemed so clearly to be the events (that you related to your attorneys) ... can get you, or a dear friend or family member ... shot.
It seems that more and more bad cops escalate, as the ranks continue to fill with egos and martinets whose “faith” is abuse of *force.* And departments now fill with armored vehicles - the rampant nationalization and militarization of the local police and sheriffs. Their false pride and politico-prejudices keep them pumped up, and they are addicted to the rush of those chemicals and the gravitational pull of ... evil.
You, on the other hand, believe in your righteousness - you are not a person who is prone to do wrong, and somehow that must show, you believe inside, because you are so comfortable with knowing your rightness.
Many a good cop, can see that in you; but these times are filled with too many (certainly an understatement at the federal level) people wearing badges/shields who are careless — they have an allegiance to policies that are not in accordance with Constitutional duties and adherence to taking action as authorized by the law.
A good cop understands his duty to the law - the law being what the people write thru their duly-elected representatives, *and* the law being the principles of its foundations - but a bad cop is a conspiratorial tool, usually of some department clique and/or political junkies and corrupt bureaucratic pukes. Bad cops are the quickest to dismiss the foundations of the law and liberty intended to limit power of government and government agents.
There are enough bad cops - the auto-steroidal (high on themselves) - who do not see people, rather, these bad cops are on a hunt, and you are game, same as the animalism with which the hoodie-punk, “knockout game” player haunts the game board of the day.
Your righteousness might deter either of those two bad people, because some of the bad people instinctively retreat back into their darkness and move on to another prey - ie you are not worth their troubles; but there are plenty of less alert, bad people among the bad cops and robbers, who can randomly fix upon you.
Put preachers with loud speakers on podiums. ?haha
