If somebody destroyed Russian armor then I can’t help but believe it must have been someone with support from the West. So, regading this being “not good”, I concur.

Poroshenko is claiming this, but there is no confirmation, either from Russia, or the rebels.
If you have been following these events, you’ll know that Poroshenko HAS to say this, because it made the major media. That has been the MO all along, whether it is true or not.
There is heavy fighting along the road to Lugansk, as Kiev is trying to cut it, to prevent aid for the city, and a key village has changed hands a couple of times in the last two days.

Per the UK Telegraph’s Oliphant, with the aid convoy, this was setup on the Russian side of the border at Izvarino/Donetsk, Russia.
Twitter says it is the support Radar for an S-300/400 battery.

That “aid” convoy was carrying soldiers. Reinforcements.
Sometimes the bully is a genuine bad-ass and resents the bloody nose you just gave him.
If it was a column of 20 or so APCs, it may not have been smart to shoot them.
The worse choice for the Ukrainians was to not hit the Russian military inside Ukraine.
The courage of these Ukrainians who fight for independence impresses me to no end.
Sounds like Porkyshenko is now backing off his claims of a stinging defeat of the Russians.

Could be, although some info. was available even here on FR. It's hard to hide an armored column, and apparently this one was spotted even by news organizations.
The US does have to be a little careful with intel, as Ukraine still has some way to go in purging traitors from their ranks. But where we can help without unduly endangering our methods and sources any more than they already are, we should.
