U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder is suggested the police authorities in Ferguson, Missouri should diversify in order to sooth racial tensions with the community.
"Over time, ... [the police] should consider the role that increased diversity in law enforcement can play in helping to build trust within communities," Holder said in a statement released Thursday afternoon.
The relatively small city of Ferguson has become the epicenter of protests against police violence in America since local officers shot and killed an unarmed African-American teen last Saturday. According to ABC News, the Ferguson police department has three black officers and 47 white officers.
Holder's statement, which arrived not long after President Barack Obama spoke on the topic, also said the Department of Justice was investigating the incident.
"All the while, the federal civil rights investigation into the shooting incident itself continues, in parallel with the local investigation into state law violations," Holder said. "Our investigators from the Civil Rights Division and U.S. attorney’s office in Missouri have already conducted interviews with eyewitnesses on the scene at the time of the shooting incident on Saturday. Our review will take time to conduct, but it will be thorough and fair."(continued)

Shouldn’t gangbangers consider becoming more peaceful?
Does that mean that majority-white communities can have a white police force, Firefighters, etc? And stick to the standard scoring for tests for these, instead of having to give points to “minorities” in order to have a “diverse” dept (instead of the one which will, for instance, be qualified to put the fire out)?
Oh ... wait ... we already did that. How's it going?
All we whites are supposed to do is shut up and pay for it all (and watch our cities go to hell in a hand basket).
Perhaps the FPD should hire gang members so that they can more faithfully reflect the makeup of the community.
Actually, since in the last 20 years ferguson has become a majority black community thanks to all the blacks fleeing the conditions which have obtained in St Louis, I would agree to them having a majority-black force-as long as they paid for it, and as long majority-white communities (such as haven’t been forcefully “diversified” through Section 8 and other social engineering) can have the exact same right.
Perhaps they should politely advise Eric they do not give a flip what he suggests and continue to arrest and jail the rioters and looters.

How diverse is the DOJ’s own Civil Rights Division?
How many Latinos, Puerto Ricans, Asians, Native Americans, Chicanos, or others work there?
Or is one group overwhelmingly represented?
Chirp, chirp, chirp. All I hear are crickets chirping. No words or cries for justice from these protestors, rioters and opportunists over unarmed blacks being murdered almost daily just north of Ferguson in Chicago...by other blacks. This is all ginned up as a racial issue, when in fact it is a violence in the black community and the country as a whole issue.
Until the facts are determined in the shooting of this young black man in Ferguson, law-abiding people will wait for due process under the law to take place for justice to be carried out in the courts. Others think that rioting, burning, looting and more violence are the answers to finding justice. They are NOT THE ANSWERS. They are the CAUSE of what happened. Until this country starts talking about that problem, none of this will ever change, especially as long as we have the Obamas, Eric Holders, Jesse Jacksons, Al Sharptons and other race baiters of the world trying to stir up every incident and issue as racially motivated. They are their own worst enemies.
Holder should consider being a little less racist.

Is the discrepancy in hiring a result of racism or lack of candidates? Does anyone know what the unemployment rate for black POST graduates is?
So changing the racial composition of the force will make the armored vehicles, the military weaponry go away? It will make the police stop their transformation into a standing army?
Not hardly.
I acknowledge the question, which I know is a rhetorical one, as we both know the answer to that.

I guess “Homeland’ hasn’t notices the black violence going on for days... that doesn’t seem to bother them.. Who thinks the Washington Post or New York Times would wax poetic if Tea Party members were burning down a city and looting stores.
He has caused the “great divide” in this country like we have never seen before. . .at least in my lifetime.
My town in NJ couldn’t keep a residency requirement for applicants (so people from neighboring Newark can apply), while Newark is allowed to keep theirs.
This is massive wealth re-distribution via workfare programs, and white taxpayers get the bill (or flee, as they are doing in NJ).
