Despite the scientific consensus

Who ever heard of science by consensus?

Scientific theory stands or falls based upon the correlation of observations to predictions. If a theory is strongly supported by measured data, we don't need to 'vote' on who's right.

If consensus were the answer, we would live on a flat Earth around which the celestial sphere revolves.

There is a very obvious typo in the very first paragraph. It should read as follows:

"Despite the phony scientific consensus that global warming is occurring and caused by human activity, a new survey conducted for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette demonstrates that many Americans remain uncertain about the impact of climate change and the need for government action to address it."

The public is smart enough to realize that scientific consensus is a far different thing from scientific proof. That is especially true when this scientific consensus is perpetrated by people whose grants depend on their following the approved liberal dogma.

Consensus my Obamahole.

Not working, MSM...try studying something that requires actual intellect (which eliminates journalism) and find out that the A students in physics are NOT going into “climate science”.

CAGW is a HOAX!

Follow the money (US govt to "scientists") and the lefty attempts to severely limit Personal Liberty.

Exactly. And there are more than a few of us old enough to remember the first earth day when we were herded into a school assembly and told about global cooling.

We were all going to freeze to death if we didn't figure out a way to stop all the pollution particles from collecting in the upper atmosphere and blocking out the warming rays of the sun.

The prescription then was exactly the same as the prescription today for global warming: give the leftist economic theorists more control of the economy and the levers of government power or we'd all die!

How many Freepers are old enough to remember?

What people aren’t buying IMO are the fairy tale(s)ie; Leftist vision(s) emanating from the top of crud mountain.

People aren’t trusting anymore that they at the top, they as impressed by the media as the purveyors of the Leftist holy grail are sincere much less honest.

IOW to paraphrase a liar of yore THERE’S A WHOLE LOT OF LYING GOING ON, and people just don’t believe anything they hear, or read anymore. I believe it is this distrust in anything with a scent of political about it that people aren’t reacting positively to the siren songs of the Left, and unfortunately the right as well.

A numbness has set in.

The government has a bigger problem.

Even if AGW were true, no one would believe them.
This is a problem that goes far far beyond climate change.
They have no idea how far.

If I ever meet Leonard Nimoy, I’m going to ask him about a 1978 episode of “In Search Of” called “In Search of The Coming Ice Age,” wherein he states “expert climatologists agree that a new ice age is coming within our lifetime.”

We are having the most beautiful, coolest summer I can remember in PA. I has gone over 90 maybe twice since June. But it’s just weather when it is cool, climate when it’s hot.

what ever happened to the ‘ozone hole’ that we were supposed to be so terrified of?

One reason for the skepticism, and it’s quite valid skepticism, is that they have been pushing their myth for so long. Everyone who keeps up on the issue at all can remember the dramatic predictions made, staring in the 90’s, about how much the climate would change within 20 years, if we didn’t do something right away.

Well, it’s been 20 years, and anyone can see that the predictions have failed. So, why would anyone believe more predictions based on the same failed models, when our own observations show the models are wrong?

Well, I don’t know if Nimoy believed in that anymore than he believed in bigfoot or the Bermuda triangle. The man had to earn a living after Star Trek, and his singing career didn’t really pan out, so he probably just read whatever they told him to.

I heard it said in terms of manmade CO2 is a little over five gallon gas can worth of volume in an Olympic sized swimming pool of 660,000 gallons. And even those stats I debate, I’d say knowing the Satanic lying scum at most universities and think tanks its probably a gallon. Climate change is just a rebranding of socialism, after the European Greens knew in your face Maoist Communism was not selling. Who could hate mother earth. The left is pretty infuriated about it, the lack of traction in the public. Sure they got more regulations on coal fired power plants but the energy business did not stand and be a sitting target, natural gas which has a low carbon footprint saved them. Now you hear about fracking, etc, etc... Another meme to control you, take away your car, your freedom and be forced to eat vegan, take public transportation or forced resettlement into inner city ghettos.

Every talking head science guy and gal can only state, “its real”, by providing that bogus “consensus” bullshit. Even the skeptics follow that crap, and “global warming” is the only topic they won’t touch with the skeptical eye, except for Brian Dunning, whom is a real skeptic. The others always spout the liberal dogma and destroy their “skeptic” foundation.

We still have it.

This is because the Earth has a tilted axis. When the Sun shines on the North Pole, it does not shine on the South Pole. And vice versa.

When O2 (Oxygen) in the atmosphere absorbs ultra-violet light from the Sun, that added energy turns O2 (Oxygen) into O3 (Ozone). Ozone is unstable, so new molecules of O3 must be continuously “created” to balance Ozone’s self-destruction.

When Oxygen (O2) at the “dark” pole does not receive sunlight, Ozone (O3) is not created to replace the O3 molecules reverting to O2.

Hence, the “ozone hole” found every year at the “poles” during their respective springtimes.
