I don’t think the Sheriff’s Deputy who lives across the street from me is “anonymous”...he parks his squad car on the street, wears his uniform to and from work, etc.
He and his family have done nothing to harm me or mine...in fact, they are rather good, but a tad shy neighbors of mine. He does his job well and I don’t see where he has made any attempt to put himself above those who he serves.
Why should I be glad if their personal information is made public?
Why isn’t their family entitled to some privacy? Are they not US citizens entitled to enjoy the same rights the rest of us claim?
The Sheriffs Deputy who lives across the street from you evidently is not a JBT cop. He is most probably one of the many proud officer who respect the rights of the person he arrests. He doesn’t find it necessary to knee the guys neck out of whack just to handcuff him. He is not the sort of officer who fears or needs to fear for his family.
I’ve wondered though. I know a few policeman. They’re decent people, but I know they see or know about their jackboot colleagues trampling people’s rights, and do nothing. This leads me to believe that most are decent but none can be trusted, and all need respect the rights of people. But as others have pointed out, perhaps that’s too much to ask for in the crap hole that America has become.
