Poland 'is doomed' says Putin advisor

Far-right Russian politician Vladimir Zhirinovsky says Poland and Baltic states risk being “wiped out” in the escalating conflict over Ukraine.

“They will be wiped out. Nothing will remain there. The heads of these dwarf states should think who they are,” Zhirinovsky, a deputy speaker of Russia's lower house of parliament (Duma) said in an astonishing outburst on the state-backed Russia 24 TV channel station on Monday.

The 65 year-old leader of the nationalist Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, an opposition politician who is seen as a close ally of the Kremlin, said that the fate of Eastern Europe is in the hands of one man, Vladimir Putin.

“All questions of war and peace in general and in particular those relating to Ukraine will be solved by one person, the head of the Russian Federation,” he said.

“The Baltic States and Poland are doomed. They will be wiped out. Nothing will remain there,” Zhirinovsky said. On attempts by Polish and other CEE leaders to beef up NATO's defences in the region, the politician, often described as “controversial but charismatic” appeared to predict World War III.

“Of course, nothing threatens America, because it is far away, but Eastern European countries risk being destroyed completely.

This is their fault, because we cannot accept planes and missiles to be launched into Russia from their territories. We need to destroy them 30 minutes before the launch.”

Well, he is one of Putin’s real advisers, and his angry outburst are the real attitude of Russia towards its peaceful neighbors. Now, I know there will be Putinistas poltroons along to tell us that this is no big deal, but they’ll be lying for their beloved Putin. Putin’s chauvinism is dangerous to Russia’s neighbors. It’s also the inspiration or rationale for his neo-soviet empire.

It strikes me as richly ironic that we brought down the Soviet Union by making it impossible economically for them to continue. Than we go on a spending binge that makes it economically impossible for us to respond properly to naked Russian aggression.

Well hell, all Putin has to do is state that the government of Poland and the Baltic States are terrible, and many folks on this forum will slap him on the back and root for him.

Everyone knows Putin is really in this to eliminate NATZIs in governments in the region.

/S

“How does an “opposition” pol become a “close ally” ?”

The best way to run a dictatorship is to have the “opposition” as your puppets too.

I didn’t think this a-hole was still around. If the Russkies are stupid enough to try and take on the Poles, brother it’ll be a blood-bath the Russkies will never recover from. The Poles have a long memory and they hate Russians more than anything on Earth. I’d looooovve for the stupid Russkies to try it! I’d be rooting for the Poles big time!!!

Sadly today, I doubt if naked aggression, as opposed to the barely disguised type Putin’s been using, would trouble his supporters. They’re all in for a new Russian empire ruled by the bare-chested, Mussolini-like clown Putin.

A Polish soldier is asked this question:

If a Nazi attacked you from one side and a Russian attacked you from the other side, which one would you shoot first?

The Pole replies, I’d shoot the Nazi first and then the Russian.

Why is that so, he’s asked.

Business before pleasure, he replies.

these are, of course, NATO countries. While Putin is an egotistical maniac, even he is not stupid enough to attack NATO. If, however, he means a nuclear attack on them tnen aall bets are off. I have no idea of how Obama would react to that, but I think that it would be his usual pathetic self.

Putin won’t invade Poland unless his army can remove their insignias, hide behind humanitarian agencies and use woman and children as human shields.

If those things come together then there is nothing Poland can do.

I googled this guy and found he was born in 1946. So it’s doubtful he knew real war, not skirmishes despite his military career, and only basked in the nationalistic afterglow of the Great War (what the ruskkies call wwII). Now he’s talking just like der fuhrer 75 years after the fact, promising to obliterate nations. What a jerkovsky.

I rather think Russia wants Lemberg/Lwow and the rest of Galicia back in Poland, because that would remove most of the anti-Russians and open the road to Kiev.

Interesting. I'm quite sure Hungary wouldn't mind taking back a slice either.

Where can we safely fly in a world with Putin?

Stay at least 600 miles from Soviet airspace. If over land 200.
