I don’t think those things are that unusual. Suicides often try to cut their wrists and start by making tentative cuts to see if they have the stomach to do it. So, he probably did that and realized that he couldn’t go through with it.
People also manage to hang themselves the way Williams did fairly often, especially in prison. Once the oxygen is cut off to the brain, you quickly pass out and there is no struggling after that.
It would be much more unusual for a woman to have managed to murder an able-bodied man in such a strange way without obvious signs of a struggle.
That is possible too.
When you use your belt, where does the buckle end up? How does the straight end of your belt support your weight in the SIDE OF THE DOOR JAM without pulling out? His weight was over 150 lbs...maybe even 175. Door/belt suicides usually hang over the door for support of the body weight for the time needed to asphyxiate.

We only see the people we know or the more famous people. All the ones I have seen were high and low types. They epically and irrationally screw up and then follows a wild scheme that will fix everything.

I had a coworker who was perfectly fine until she emptied out the bank account, gave it to some idiot and did the “flaming bridge abutment crash” suicide. Her closest friends had been monitoring the ups and downs and didn’t tell anyone.
If you had paid attention to the report, Williams had depression but was NEVER DIAGNOSED WITH BI POLAR or any other disorder. People just make things up here. I believed until I found the interview where he made that statement, no diagnosis of bi polar.
Millions of Americans have depression and very few commit suicide.

Millions are diagnosed ADHD every year, but that does not make one suicidal....even if that is what happened. I just do not buy it due to the facts released by the police.
The desire to harm yourself runs strongly in some of them. I know a girl that went out and got herself pregnant with a member of another race just to attack her parents.
When the baby came, she didn’t want it. She is badly Bipolar. Rage against those who conspire against her followed by extreme gregariousness. Who are you today?
ADHD doesn’t cause you to hurt yourself. It just means you can’t decide on how to do it.

A leather belt can easily support a man’s weight, it used to support the much larger weight of a cow’s innards, and that was before it was treated to make it even stronger. Also, I believe the belt was attached to the door know, not the jamb.

Not always. Remember, there is no “how to” manual for suicide, they do not teach it in school, and you can’t exactly learn how to do it from experience. So, if someone kills themselves in an unusual way, it probably means nothing more than that it was their first time killing themselves.

Without waking them up? Not unless they are in a drunken/drugged stupor, but we’ll have to wait for the toxicology to see if that could be the case. We already know enough to say the cuts on his arm were not post mortem, and that also would have woken him up if he was not chemically sedated somehow.
Tears. And in the end, his brilliant career and incredible talent finishes with tragedy, the ugly side of comedy. If there is a silver lining, let it be the awareness that clinical depression is real and deadly.
