Civilization versus barbarism-Obama has failed to promote a moral imperative against ISIS

al Qaeda inspired militants stand with captured Iraqi Army Humvee at checkpoint outside Beiji, some 250 kilometers north of Baghdad

Recently, Pope Francis declared that “the persecution of Christians today is even greater than in the first centuries of the church, and there are more Christian martyrs today than in that era.”

The slaughter of as many as 500,000 Christians in South Sudan since 2011 may not have received the attention it deserved. However, now the religious cleansing of Christians in Iraq resulting from Islamic jihadists’ conquest of lands Christians had called home since the first centuries A.D. cannot be ignored.

In a region where Christians and Muslims had previously lived in relative peace side by side for centuries, the past 10 years have witnessed some 1.1 million Christians being killed or driven from their homes. Since June, the fall of northern Iraq to the control of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has created more than a half-million refugees — both Christian and non-Christian.

The Islamic State blitzkrieg across northern Iraq has captured large caches of advanced weapons left by the United States for the Iraqi military. Tanks, armored vehicles, surface-to-air missile launchers, warehouses of machine guns and ammunition and even Black Hawk helicopters — captured in Samarra, Fallujah, Mosul and Tikrit — are in the hands of the Islamic State. Now the world’s most brutal terrorists have some of the most up-to-date military equipment available. In addition, the Islamic State has looted banks of some $500 million, seized five oil fields and Iraq’s largest electricity-generating dam — providing the means for self-funding the expansion of Islamic terrorist rule. Islamic State-controlled assets now generate $3 million in daily income and are valued at more than $2 billion — unprecedented in the annals of terrorism

Moral imperative? Obama"? I'm not sure Muslims killing Christians are an imperative issue in our President's worldview. Jews killing palestinians, that registers big time.

The a-hole and his “humanitarianism”.

I don’t think 0bama is able to see a moral imperative of any sort.

It’s a part of the Liberal disease.

Obviously, getting rid of the Tikriti bunch was a serious error.

Lets see, who was our president from 2011 to now?

Isn't he wonderful! Lord Obama gives us free abortions and birth control. Then, he is letting ISIS, HAMAS, and other Islamic groups kill all those evil/judgemental Christians and Jews.

obama has had a very poor opinion of America and it's history. He believes America is not exceptional in any way. He believes we've meddled too often where we shouldn't. He believes American culture is no better than any other culture, morally. Yet, look where he now finds himself, meddling, sending American might to defend good from evil. Do you think any of this has struck a cord with him? Do you think he has taken a step back and said, “I have become what I have hated my whole life”?

Don't count on it.

Something wrong with his Syria policy?

Whatever could that be???

There is one, exactly one, case where obama didn’t back the most muslim side.

US troops are currently bombing ISIS in Syria.

Why?

To protect the Yazidis.

Who are the Yazidis?

The Yazidis are an ancient religion, one whose people revere Melek Taus, who is also known as the Peacock Angel, or Shaytan, or in English: Satan.

IOW, obama will consistently support any muslim over any Christian, the most radical muslims over any moderate muslims, and Satan worshipers over the most radical of muslims.

Any questions?

It’s my opinion that the attack on NYC was a declaration of war by Saudi Arabia and Pakistan against the United States.

Formulating a response aimed at Iraq and Afghanistan was a serious strategic error, from which we have yet to recover.

I sort of agree, but a response against Afghanistan was a must since that where the attacks were launched. But of course Nation Building won the day instead of what really needed to be done..

Iraq was just a silly diversion and really the LEAST of our problems at that time, but I guess since Sodum decided he had to SHOW OFF thats why he got whacked... not broken up about it... but in hind-site is sure cost a lot, blood and lives.

Because in Obama’s view, the ISIS murderers are NOT guilty of anything but their free exercise of religion, and there is NO moral imperative to do ANYTHING but blame America and Israel for ANYTHING!

but a response against Afghanistan was a must since that where the attacks were launched

The attacks were launched from Quetta and Peshawar every bit as much as from Kandahar (and Hamburg and Venice, FL, for that matter). I agree that a punitive expedition in Afghanistan was a necessity.

However, the enemy center of gravity lies in SW Pakistan and runs from Islamabad to Riyadh.

If we had nuked Tora Bora in December 2001, as we should have done, Saddam and Bush would have been best friends the very next day. We could have then turned Saddam loose to sweep to the Red Sea, kill the Saudi royals, take the oil (with his new friends, of course), and renew his war with Iran, this time with proper logistics and air cover. At the same time, we could have invaded Pakistan from the sea and from India, leaving the fate of the Talibs and ISI to the Indians while our expeditionary forces met up with Saddam just east of Teheran.

Instead, somehow we let the enemy leaders continue to sleep safe in their beds while killing a minor and unimportant tribal chieftain and sending Barbara Boxer to teach the Pashtuns what to do with their women.

Idiocy.

Too bad, too bad. Oh, too bad!
