What's a "Mainstream conservative"?
A RINO.
That’s leftist-speak for RINO.
Sweep???
They had to spend millions again people runnign for the first time to just squeak by....
Now, will six million Republicans show up on the first Tuesday in November?................
Sold their souls for the devil this cycle. Tactics used by the party are not forgivable, and at least one of these guys will lose in November because of it.
We got a bigger scalp in downstate Virginia anyway, and Mississippi is yet to be resolved.
I’m giddy myself. These people are sparing me the pain of going to the polls. I can just sit home and follow the story on the Internet as the whole country sinks into oblivion.
The fact is, the TeaParty (grassroots) is putting a fire under their feet and they don't like it.
And I hope Cochran loses in Miss.
The Tea Party is young and those fools are old
Sweep?
The loss of Cantor negates the use of the term “Sweep”. Besides, the tea party is still growing at the local and state level. In another 2 years they’re going to start showing up in house and senate races in unprecedented numbers.
In both Kansas and Tennessee they packed the field in “most votes wins” primaries and couldn’t break 50% for either bag of Shiite they ran. If that has them happy they are desperate to find something to be happy about.
We in the conservative minority (and it is) need to be willing to focus our energies against the truly traitorous republican incumbents and candidates. Not everyone with a less-than-perfect voting record must be opposed in order to make headway against the progressive scum in DC. If a GOPE type retains his seat against the DEM challenger, while conservatives win primaries and beat the liberals in the open contests, the eventual thrust of government will be positive. Most of the GOPE’ers are unprincipled enough to go with the flow most of the time. We just have to concentrate on changing the zeitgeist!
Apparently, the GOP enjoys their successes with the knowledge there are plenty of mind-numb Republican sycophants just like there is in the Democrat Party.
Let us know how November works out for you.
Thus the failure to take the nominations on these races. As upstarts in politics, too many want to throw their hat in the ring. While this is a good sign, it leads to defeat.
What we need to do is swallow our own pride and get behind ONE candidate, put all our resources behind that candidate and push him (her) to win. When we see these incumbents garner less than 50% of the votes, they are beatable.
Quit looking for the perfect candidate (me), and support someone who supports 80% of our views. Use ALL the money available to back this person and get him (her) the most exposure possible.
The low information voter will vote for the name they know. Most people do not want to rock the boat. They are afraid of change. They are comfortable with the incumbent and will vote as the party tells them to. They are easily scared when the incumbent makes allegations, and the challenger cannot repudiate them effectively. Let's give them the resources to be able to effectively fight and expose these attacks for what they are.
Expose the missteps of the opposition , and demonstrate them with facts.
It's like a twig, alone it is easily broken, but bundle a handful together and they may be bent, but never broken.
Mainstream GOP upbeat?
The mainstream GOP can beat off.
There are plenty of TEA party candidates running for the House, and running on the state and local levels nationwide.
Who does the GOPe think won the 2010 midterm elections?
It sure as hell wasn’t the GOPe.
What’s not being reported (or that I’ve seen), TP candidates won 5 out of 6 primaries in which the incumbent was retiring. And “(the “loss” was Oklahoma but the nominee isn’t bad.)”
Thanks to 11th Commandment for the post (#5 on this thread)

Ben Sasse for Senate in Nebraska;
Joni Ernst for Senate in Iowa;
Alex Mooney for U.S. House in WV.
There are others.
It is tough to dislodge an incumbent - the bed is comfortable, the food is good - and he pockets are deep.
I bet they are giddy with Thad barely getting by, Roberts of KS got less than 50% of the primary vote, Lamar just under 50% in the TN primary, etc.
A lot can happen between now and 2016.
Like a new conservative parties with its own slate.
GOP-E, enjoy this year while it lasts.
