The TV presenter first compared Gaza's rocket attacks to going to Madonna's house to 'throw paint bottles’ and the civilian casualties to the victims of Hiroshima.
She then said the thought the nearly 2,000 Palestinian who have died on the Gaza strip since Israel launched military operations in the area a month ago 'deserved it'.

Good for her! She’s an old-school comedian who knows political correctness is the demise of her vocation.
You know, that’s exactly the way Englishman used to think back before they were neutered. Now they gasp and clutch at their pearls when exposed to such reasoning.
Except for the tone, what she said ought not be controversial. When you start and pursue a war, particularly a war where you loudly and repeatedly vow to exterminate another people, you shouldn’t be outraged if they fight back. If you regret your choice, then say “I surrender” and “I promise not to do it again”.

I haven’t seen a transcript of what she said.
But it’s always easy to tell an attack piece. You quote short phrases, as in this article, rather than the whole “rant” or a large segment thereof.
As they did to George Zimmerman. The purpose is, of course, not to give a fair explanation of what JR or GZ had to say, it’s to attack and demonize them.
Lucid, irascible, direct and to the point?
It’s tough to say “they deserve to be dead” when it’s children. Their parents might deserve to be dead, but the kids are non-complicit by definition.
She’s gutsy and I’m glad she said it.
