Speaker Boehner on U.S. Airstrikes in Iraq
House of Representatives ^ | Friday, August 8, 2014 | Speaker John Boehner

Posted on 08/08/2014 6:51:44 AM PDT by kristinn

WASHINGTON, DC – House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) today issued the following statement on U.S. operations in Iraq:

“The president’s authorization of airstrikes is appropriate, but like many Americans, I am dismayed by the ongoing absence of a strategy for countering the grave threat ISIS poses to the region. Vital national interests are at stake, yet the White House has remained disengaged despite warnings from Iraqi leaders, Congress, and even members of its own administration. Such parochial thinking only emboldens the enemy and squanders the sacrifices Americans have made. The president needs a long-term strategy – one that defines success as completing our mission, not keeping political promises – and he needs to build the support to sustain it. If the president is willing to put forward such a strategy, I am ready to listen and work with him. For now, I wish Godspeed to all our men and women participating in these operations.”

No comparison with Christianity or Judaism.
Neither Christianity NOR Judaism are told to strike off the hands and heads of unbelievers.

AQ is on whose leash? The Saudi Royal family's?

Osama bin Laden authored two fatāwā in the late 1990s. The first was published in August 1996 and the second in February 1998. At the time, bin Laden was not a wanted man in any country except his native Saudi Arabia, and was not yet known as the leader of the international terrorist organization al-Qaeda.

Bin Laden's 1996 Fatwah entitled "Declaration of War against the Americans Occupying the Land of the Two Holy Places".

"And so King Abdul Azeez caused the loss of the first Qiblah of the Muslims people. The King joined the crusaders against the Muslims and instead of supporting the Mujahideen in the cause of Allah, to liberate the Al-Aqsa Mosque, he disappointed and humiliated them.

Today, his son, king Fahd, trying to deceive the Muslims for the second time so as to lose what is left of the sanctities. When the Islamic world resented the arrival of the crusader forces to the land of the two Holy Places, the king told lies to the Ulamah (who issued Fatwas about the arrival of the Americans) and to the gathering of the Islamic leaders at the conference of Rabitah which was held in the Holy City of Makka. The King said that: “the issue is simple, the American and the alliance forces will leave the area in few months”. Today it is seven years since their arrival and the regime is not able to move them out of the country. The regime made no confession about its inability and carried on lying to the people claiming that the American will leave. But never-never again ; a believer will not be bitten twice from the same hole or snake! Happy is the one who takes note of the sad experience of the others!!

Instead of motivating the army, the guards, and the security men to oppose the occupiers, the regime used these men to protect the invaders, and further deepening the humiliation and the betrayal. (We bemoan this and can only say: “No power and power acquiring except through Allah”). To those little group of men within the army, police and security forces, who have been tricked and pressured by the regime to attack the Muslims and spill their blood, we would like to remind them of the narration: (I promise war against those who take my friends as their enemy)

“....I am dismayed by the ongoing absence of a strategy for countering the grave threat ISIS poses to the region.”

.
Has Boner thought about what to do with the American ISIS fighters when they come back?

Will they be prosecuted or set free when caught?

Christians and Jews need not apply for world sympathy or protection. These two groups are not “on the list” of protected peoples”.

You need to get better informed. McCain and Graham wanted to arm the Syrian opposition. Obama was slow to act and when he did, it was primarily non-military aid. Much of the weaponry possessed by ISIL was captured from Iraqi forces.

List of Early al Qaeda Donors Points to Saudi Elite, Charities

' A cache of al Qaeda documents seized last year by U.S. agents in Bosnia identifies some of Saudi Arabia's richest and most influential families as among the first financial supporters of Osama bin Laden, and shows how al Qaeda used charitable arms of the Saudi government.

An account of the roots of al Qaeda found on a computer used by a suspected al Qaeda front group contains a 1988 memorandum listing 20 Saudi financial backers of Mr. bin Laden -- "the Golden Chain," as the bin Laden organization called it. The list includes the families of three billionaire Saudi banking magnates, several top industrialists and at least one former government minister.'

WikiLeaks cables portray Saudi Arabia as a cash machine for terrorists

'"Donors in Saudi Arabia constitute the most significant source of funding to Sunni terrorist groups worldwide," she said. ----

Saudi officials are often painted as reluctant partners. Clinton complained of the "ongoing challenge to persuade Saudi officials to treat terrorist funds emanating from Saudi Arabia as a strategic priority".

Washington is critical of the Saudi refusal to ban three charities classified as terrorist entities in the US. "Intelligence suggests that these groups continue to send money overseas and, at times, fund extremism overseas," she said.

The various sects of Islam are no different than the various denominations of Christians. The Muslims may have different views, but the Koran is still the book used by all. And they take the pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina--two of the Holiest sites in Islam.

The same holds true for Christians. We have different views on certain issues, but Jesus Christ is still the son of God. And the Bible is our guide.

“The various sects of Islam are no different than the various denominations of Christians. “

You couldn’t be anymore wrong if you tried.
There is NO comparison between Islam and Christianity.

Show me where Jesus says His followers can lie to an unbeliever in order to kill them. Show me where God told Adam he could beat Eve for disobedience. You can’t be that naive.

I despise Boehner and want him replaced. The GOPe is nothing more than a wing of the Dem party. That said, I agree with his statement on Iraq.
