He makes a lot of sense, unlike our current fearless leader.

Now they’ve taken another infected missionary home to Spain.

It’s like watching a slow motion disaster movie.

Carson is 100% correct IMHO, and my own views on this echo his completely.

Carson is wrong and I wonder if he wants our military who are fighting Ebola in Africa to live with their chances there, if they get the disease.

This panicked reaction that we should start letting our heroes die in Africa rather than bring them home to our (and their) advanced Ebola clinics, is discouraging.

My real concern is this. Are they ever cured in the traditional sense?

A cure means they no are no longer symptomatic. Okay. they survive. As I understand it, this does not remove their positive status. Aren’t they then carriers, able to infect others who will then need treatment?

Is this really going to be stopped, if the do survive? I don’t think so, but I’m not actually sure yet.

This is one time when I disagree with the great doctor. While it may be possible to “treat” Americans who have Ebola in some 3rd world country, would we want our son or daughter to be left in Liberia to be treated? Of course not!

Emory will take the greatest care to isolate these two patients. There MAY be danger to the caregivers, but not to the general public.

His opinion is just that. He’ll never be in a position to make such a decision

"Ebola is a terrifying disease. If you don't treat it, close to 90 percent of the people will die," said Carson.

That is a strange thing to say about America. How many Americans are so stubborn that they won't go to the hospital if they get Ebola?

Why should Americans sit safely behind an ocean while the world's poor suffer?

After all Ebola is the legacy of centuries of colonialism. /s

Perhaps they should have been taken to the Hospital Ship?

You will note that the head of the CDC and Emory are not risking anything in doing this. If it go “unexpectedly” awry, they will just slough it off and go on their merry way. They will not be held accountable in any way, either professionally or civilly .... the poor schnucks that get the disease and die will suffer the consequences of their actions. Name one Administration department head or secretary that has been held responsible (other than the VA head but not the VA Hospital Directors)?

First and foremost practice of life threatening infection control is containment.

I admire Dr. Carson, and he’s entitled to be wrong once in a while like the rest of humanity.

As the head of the CDC said today, it’s inevitable that a hot case of ebola will eventually reach the US, given the prevalence of international travel.

Studying, treating, healing, learning, and developing treatment as a result of Dr.Brantly and Mrs. Writebol’s cases is a significant advantage and could save us from future epidemics.

The two patients at Emory are so irrelevant.

America is not waiting on those two who are in the top facility, perhaps in the world for Ebola treatment, to decide if America will escape or be affected by Ebola.

Our nation’s fate in regards to Ebola, does not hinge on that special isolation unit accepting two sophisticated patients who treat Ebola themselves.

WHICH IS IT FOLKS, EBOLA IS GOING TO OVERRUN US BECAUSE OF MASS TRAVELERS AND ILLEGALS, OR BECAUSE OF THOSE TWO AT THE EMORY EBOLA CLINIC AND A MISTAKE THERE?

Ben Carson evidently is still thinking small, not exactly presidential material.

"Why would we bring that into our country? Why would we expose ourselves when we already know that there are problems that can occur and have occurred," said Carson, who is a former director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins University and Hospital, in an interview with Newsmax TV.

Dr. Carson *must* be aware that every known strain of Ebola and Marburg virus is kept at a facility about an hour or so drive from Johns Hopkins. And that people routinely handle those viruses.

This is just plain silly. Viruses cannot escape from BSL4 containment without help.
