Hamas ultimatum: Failing a Gaza seaport, the war goes on and thousands of Israelis will die

Hours before the 72-hour ceasefire was due to expire Friday morning, Aug. 8, the Palestinian Hamas’ military wing slapped down an ultimatum before Israel: Either allow the Gaza Strip to have an open seaport – which would be tantamount to lifting the Gaza blockade - or prepare for a long and brutal war of attrition with thousands of fatalities.

Hamas’ decision about extending the ceasefire was tensely awaited Thursday night after Israel’s acceptance. Instead, the Palestinian Islamists declared that the war would go on unless Israel bowed to their dictates.

Israel’s envoys had previously rejected their demand for a deep sea Gaza port in the talks taking place in Cairo under Egyptian auspices.

Abu Obeida, spokesman of Hamas’ military wing, Ezz e-Din Al-Qassam, also announced that his movement had acquired new rockets with larger warheads than the more than 3,000 fired against the Israeli population in the month-long conflict, and they would be aimed at Israel’s Ben Gurion international airport. Israel would be severed from its air transport ties with the outside world, he said.

“We demand our fundamental rights,” said the Hamas spokesman, in a statement that was broadcast live Thursday night. “We call on our envoys to the Cairo talks not to continue negotiations until Israel surrenders to our demand for a seaport. The war is not over until the siege of Gaza ends.”

They should say no, and then announce to the UN, Media, and other countries that one more rocket fired into Israel they should evacuate GAZA because it will be leveled. And then do it. The head of the UN said they would not rebuild Gaza again so use that as leverage and say if you do not want to rebuild again get Hamas in line because it will be vacant land if they fire another rocket...

“Thousands” of Israelis may die but they die killing tens of thousands of hamas terrorists. Those Israelis sacrifice honorably against subhuman monsters. Wipe-out these moozlum degenerates.

And then millions of polypstinians will need to be eliminated.

So, the Hamas logistics masterminds stocked all their tunnels with arms, ammo, and explosives but forgot FOOD!?!? Gee, looks like you dunderheads are going to die hungry when you meet your 72 virgins, eh? I wish I could really give a care, but I've got important things to do — like rearrange my sock drawer. I'd guess you Hamas morons have tapped out your UN food coupons too? It's a pity about that.

The blockade is to keep weapons and rockets out. Of course they want this blockade gone. It is not a total blockade by any means

Fire away, Hamas. The sooner you are obliterated the better for humanity.

There is no possible economy in Gaza, except intensive agriculture (i.e., greenhouses, which they destroyed) and beachfront/tourist/casino trade (which they destroyed).

I used to live in Gush Katif, which was the non-Arab-occupied part of the strip.

Because of massive foreign dole for each Arab, the entire central area of Gaza is like a giant Chicago housing project.

About 1/2 the people don’t work, live off a VERY generous dole, and either: (1) sit around and cause trouble or (2) work illegal/shady/cash jobs so as to not ruin the opportunity to get the dole.

I have been thinking about the best way to stop the situation, and it is to stop the dole.

Gaza is way over-populated for the potential economy there. If there is no more free money, people without jobs will go back to where they came and/or go to work in jobs they are “too good to do” since they can sit around and get the same money on the dole.

There are giant hotels and agriculture industries that need workers, but no one shows up -— because the dole is too good.

So, Jewbacca’s solution is to turn off the money and make people go till the Earth like I did when I lived there.

“We demand our fundamental rights,” said the Hamas spokesman.

How is that any different than: “We demand our fundamental rights,” said the Democrat spokesman?

Right on. Best first step would be to reestablish Gush Katif and apologize to the exiles for their brutal and unjust uprooting, giving them the right to either return home or sell their former homes to other Jews. Then eliminate the dole. Arabs have to eat like anyone else, and are just as capable of figuring out on which side their bread is buttered. If the Jews are back and the dole is gone, they’ll know where to go for jobs, and suddenly be a whole lot more civil. Then also pay them a sal pleita (emigration package) if they decide to leave Ghaza for greener pastures outside Israel, similar to the sal klita (immigration package) paid to new Jewish immigrants. Gosharooti. Discrimination. Tsk. Tsk.
