A senior Democratic senator predicted Sunday there could be massive demonstrations in Washington if House Republicans try to block a bill to grant legal status to millions of immigrants.
Sen. Charles Schumer (N.Y.), the lead Democratic sponsor of the Senate immigration reform bill, said House Republicans would likely spark massive civil rights rallies if they try to quash measures to create a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants already in the country.
“This has the potential of becoming the next major civil rights movement. I could envision in the late summer or early fall if Boehner tries to bottle the bill up or put something in without a path to citizenship — if there’s no path to citizenship, there’s not a bill — but if he tries to bottle it up or do things like that, I could see a million people on the Mall in Washington,” Schumer said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” Schumer said business leaders, evangelical leaders and CEOs of high tech companies would join the public call for action by the House on immigration.
Schumer has counted about 67 votes for the Senate immigration bill and believes close to 70 will support final passage later this week.
“I do believe that having a significant number of Republicans will change the dynamic in the House. Individual Congress members from red districts, if they see their senators voted for it and they decide to do the right thing, there will be huge pressure on [Speaker John] Boehner [R-Ohio] not to block immigration reform,” said Schumer.

You want to see much bigger demonstrations. Try passing this bill to make the tax bill of every taxpayer go up exponentially. You guys on the hill sound like a bunch of Kim Kardashians given Carte Blanche with Kanye West’s credit cards. You’re not paying the bills. What do you care? That’s the whole point. You don’t deserve your office and we’re coming to take it...
It could mean they have already paid the demonstrators, or more likely, the organizers.

IMHO the Dems have been knocked off balance by the seeming confusion and infighting within the Republican caucus with a leadership that wants to pass something but a rank and file that’s digging in it’s heels and refusing to.
I’m loathe to give Boeher any credit, but if he wanted to rob the Dems of this as a political issue this is probably the only way to do it. If it’s by intent he’s a genius. If unintentional (as I think it is) he’s the beneficiary of one of the greatest strokes of luck in recent political history.

Schemer was wrong again. The Senate bill was shelved by the House, thanks to the leadership of Sen. Sessions and Sen. Cruz. Obama’s plot to bring tens of thousands of illegals into Texas through Mexico was a total fiasco that turned the nation against amnesty and threatens many Democrats running for office this Nov.
How comes it that its un-american for American citizen patriots in Tea Party to protest Obama, but patriotic for illegal-illegals, (err immigrant refugees) to do it?

Compare and contrast the Obama method: feed them, attend to their medical needs, give them TV, toys, fly them on airplanes all over the U.S. to disseminate crime, diseases, ecto- and endo-parasites, get impregnated with anchor babies, take jobs from Americans by undercutting wages, ruin neighborhoods with their filth, and....vote illegally for Dumbocrat candidates. Their true purpose.

I am ok with that. I would send in the same fine officers that kept our national parks safe from citizens when sequestration was implemented
