According to CBS This Morning host Gayle King on Monday, unless an illegal alien is doing something "illegal," Americans should leave him or her alone. Mike Hogan from Vanity Fair appeared on the program to discuss a new poll about ethical dilemmas and how people respond. Guest host Vinita Nair wondered, "Who's more likely to report an illegal immigrant living next door?"
Hogan discussed the responses of Republicans, Democrats and independents. He then quoted an off-air discussion: "I think Gayle [King] in the green room said, 'As long as they're not doing anything illegal, you know, let them live.'" Standing by her comments, King reiterated, "That's right. That's right." Hogan added, "Leave them alone." [See video below. MP3 audio here.]

So, to reiterate, unless illegal immigrants are breaking the law, they shouldn't be bothered?

VINITA NAIR: Immigration is obviously something people are really debating a lot right now, especially when it comes to party lines between Republicans and Democrats. Who's more likely to report an illegal immigrant living next door?
MIKE HOGAN: Well, not surprisingly, Republicans are more likely to report illegal immigrants. But nobody is terribly likely to do it. Thirty five percent of Republicans said that they would. Only 22 percent of Democrats and 23 percent of independents. Fifty seven percent of Republicans said they would not report somebody living next door, 74 percent percent of Democrats. And I think Gayle in the green room said, "As long as they're not doing anything illegal, you know, let them live."
GAYLE KING: That's right. That's right.
HOGAN: Leave them alone. [Laughs.]
Does she mean “something illegal” like the two illegals killing a TX Border Patrol agent, while he was fishing with his family?
Their (bleeping) EXISTANCE here makes them criminals.
(Not to mention all their other crimes here.)

This is CBS’s attempt at “serious AM news”. Gayle King comes on the second hour and pollutes the show. She’s dumber and more condescending than are DC politicians. Real superiority complex on that woman. JMHO
They money to support illegals could be taken out of her paycheck - and the paychecks of people who believe in letting illegals in... We'll just divide up what the illegals cost, then send liberals a bill reflecting their portion... OUT OF THEIR PAYCHECKS...
If Gayle King is willing to do that - put her money where her mouth is - then it's fine with me.
Bankrupting liberal elites just might be worth it. But I suspect people like Gayle want to bankrupt our country - and the people who live here and pay the taxes. She's a witch. She should be generous with her own money - not with other peoples.

It’s ambiguous. The question was whether you’d call the authorities yourself if you knew there were illegals next door, not what the government should do about illegals. So was she just responding to that question about what she would personally do, or was she making a more general statement about what the government should do?
How about they take this poll instead "Do you think it is in the best interest of public safety to let anybody enter the country?"
She MIGHT have a point if we’d deport those who ARE violent criminals, but we’re not even doing THAT!

They should have asked her if we should eliminate the borders of the United States and advertise to the world that anyone can come and go as they wish. This is what Obama and dems seem to desire. Call their bluff. Heck draft a bill and get dems on record to defeat it.
Then followup will bill that requires our borders to be enforced (not necessary but what the heck)
Ask them which bill do they want. Open borders or controlled borders? Does the United States have boundaries or not?
Unless prison escapees are doing something illegal, leave them alone.
