As Democrats avoid Obama, Romney is in demand on the midterm campaign trail
Washington Post ^ | August 2, 2014 | By Robert Costa and Philip Rucker

President Obama thumped Mitt Romney in the 2012 election, but now their political standings seem reversed. During a summer in which Democratic candidates are keeping their distance from an unpopular president, Romney is emerging as one of the Republican Party’s most in-demand campaign surrogates.

Over three days in mid-August, Romney will campaign for GOP Senate and gubernatorial candidates in West Virginia, North Carolina and Arkansas, aides said. In September, he is planning visits to the presidential swing states of Colorado and Virginia.

Romney is filling up his October schedule, as well.

“Democrats don’t want to be associated with Barack Obama right now, but Republicans are dying to be associated with Mitt Romney,” said Spencer Zwick, a longtime Romney confidant who chaired his national finance council.

OK—Ronmey got rolled by Obamas machine in 2012. Even if you do not like Mittens—he would be a better pressident than Hillary, and she would be better than Obama. He should run again—and run hard.

Love the headline. He should be in demand to campaign for Democrats.

‘The GOPe and the MSM are both trying to boost Romney to run again in 2016 where it is certain he would lose another presidential race. The fact that a number of positive Romney articles are appearing in columns nationwide attests to it.’

Absolutely right, dowcaet.
The political pump monkeys for Romney are at it again, and, again, they are so obvious and so phoney.

As we sit here on this fine Sunday morning and carp among ourselves, Mitt Romney is gathering momentum and in the process of steamrolling - unopposed - to the 2016 GOP nomination.

Where are the other candidates? The 2014 mid-terms are practically upon us and anybody serious about making a 2016 presidential run should be fully engaged by now, raising money, building a social media platform, attending corn husking contests in Iowa and clambakes in New Hampshire.

Could the GOP please get a clue about social media? This is the main reason they have not been able to prevail in some of the recent elections, even though they ran against inferior candidates. They need to out-Twitter, out-Facebook and out-Foursquare the Democrats. Now many conservatives might scoff at that but they need to realize that we are in a new age. Those who are content with "good old dialup" to access the Free Republic and Town Hall forums are stuck in the late 1990s and that approach is not going to get their candidates elected.

This is the WP pushing Romney.

Will Romney take the bait and be the media's favorite?

Thanks for posting this article. So much negativism about Romney . Too bad he is a decent man who would have done a far better job than Obama. One thing is for certain he would not have broken the law or lied to the American people.

At the risk of getting burned here, I agree. Sure, I would love to see Ted Cruz ss president, but presidents are elected by majorities in states. A committed ideologue - left or right — has little chance for being elected without a great deal of electoral/campaign deception. And we can see how tht worked out.

Obamacare was modeled on Romneycare.

You are sadly wrong. Obamacare was originated by King Obama and his communists long before Romneycare was in the minds of that State's Democrats and was shoved down Romney's throat with the blessings of the voters. Get it straight, pal.

"At the risk of getting burned here"

Whoever the GOP runs will win, but if a RINO wins conservatives (and Republic) will lose. Right now Cruz is our best hope.

What utter garbage.

Mitt is a rabid Statist.

I very reluctantly voted for him in 2012.

NEVER again will I cast a vote for a Statist.

Is that you Karl Rove? The lesser of two evils will not work again. Tell your GOPe pals that Conservatives wont be fooled again.
