Regulations: Well, well. Another big union has publicly declared that its members are the real front-line victims of the Obama administration's war on domestic energy production.
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers came out with guns blazing this week against the Environmental Protection Agency's proposed Clean Power Plan.
In a press release, it warns what we've been saying about these economically masochistic carbon emission regulations from the start: "They will kill more than 150,000 good jobs while having a minimal effect on global greenhouse emissions."
Their words, not ours and driven home time and again in IBEW testimony at EPA field hearings in opposition to the new regulations.
"America needs an energy plan that balances the environment, the economy and jobs," said the union's president, Edwin Hill. "But the EPA's poorly thought-out rule will do nothing but kill vital jobs and threaten the reliability of the electrical grid, hurting customers and businesses."

IBEW is one of the unions in the utility company I work for. Its been fun talking to the hard-core Progs as they’ve come to realize over the last 5 years that their Marxist Messiah wants to kill THEIR job permanently. Our coal and oil units that used to be the bulk of our generating capacity and all of our baseline generation have been reduced to just a portion of our energy portfolio.
Where you stand on an issue depends on where you sit. And from where the IBEW sits, they apparently feel like they’re getting screwed. Welcome to the party, IBEW.

Elections have consequences.
Thanks for posting, Bryanw. Nice that folks are seeing the light.
For every private sector job lost to EPA regulations and fake Global Warming it should be required that two Federal Government jobs be eliminated in the Dept. of Interior, Commerce, HHS, Agriculture, DHS, HUD, etc.
Boo fricken hoo. They endorsed Obama twice, they will endorse whoever is the next Democrat nominee, and they will support every Democrat for the House and Senate.
Hope the movement goes viral. Socialists love to control everything but fail to foresee the consequences and the bigger picture; that they are being manipulated emotionally to become activists to push agendas that benefit their unseen puppetmasters.
They also strongly dissented on the Keystone pipeline. Unfortunately their campaign contributions go 100% to Democrats.

They and their brethren won the Forest Gump's "Stupid is as Stupid does" Award...
All this late late awaking to reality is soooo special; but I have a news flash for IBEW and all the other outfits who swallowed his incredibly obvious line of impossible BS because they thought that electing him would somehow give THEM some undefined advantage over everyone else.....We’re stuck with him now, and we may NEVER get rid of him. Sux to be you! And it ain’t all that good for the rest of us, either.
Good.
These were the same union thugs that ran off non-union utility crews from the South who came up to the Northeast to help out after Hurricane Sandy.
I hope they go to their reward shivering in the dark.
The IBEW is full of racists.
Pure definition of the phrase “useful idiots”!
Shocking.
In light of the union involved, I’d say electricians also have consequences. Electrons too.
I’m curious, do you think that THEY will think before casting any votes in this falls election?
No problem, you can sign up for Obamacare! You are not beholden to a job you don't like to get Insurance...
>>Im curious, do you think that THEY will think before casting any votes in this falls election?
Nope. They will vote Democrat. Although their reasons for loving the Dems are pure fantasy, their reasons for hating the GOP are mostly legitimate. Both parties have abandoned the working middle class, so we just stick to our old loyalties because the other side is the devil we don’t know.
