President Barack Obama made a statement on the economy from the White House on Friday afternoon where he argued the latest jobs number show the economy is continuing to recover from the financial crisis.

"The good news is the economy clearly is getting stronger things are getting better," said Obama.

Obama highlighted the fact the country has seen a "six month streak with at least 200,000 new jobs each month."

"That's the first time that's happened since 1997," he said.

Obama described this as part of "the longest streak of private sector job creation in our history."

“””Obama described this as part of “the longest streak of private sector job creation in our history.””””

A little early in the day to be drinking, don’t you think?

I have not read much about this claim.. but I’m pretty sure that Obama fund-raises, parties, golfs, and goofs-off in the parts of the country that are booming. Several area around San Francisco for example.

And after the news, the market is still down after losing a chunk earlier in the week - even the big money folks can’t keep pushing the farce much longer.

"That's the first time that's happened since 1997," he said.

Significanly smaller population in 1997. 1997 population was 266,490,000. 2014 is 315,183,000.

He needs 237,000 job growth in 2014 to equal 200,000 in 1997.

(I don't think these job growth total numbers are adjusted for population growth for comparison purposes.)

The only thing getting stronger is the stench wafting from the White Hut. Mr. Stinky needs a vacation, a permanent one.

When The Preezy said he created the most jobs “in histroy” I nearly fell out of my lazyboy.

I was able to listen to the entire bloviating hour, excruciating as it was, hoping for some huge gaffe.

He got so animated talking about Africa at the end of the hour, it is clear he loves and misses Africa. Contrast with his hate for America.

When the economy first started crashing the GAO said that the recession would last 8 months without government intervention. Now, thanks to government intervention it’s lasted almost 8 years.

He also refers to his wife as “beautiful”.

I'm sure in his eyes, he does feel that way about Reggie. Although, in that relationship, I'm guessing Barbara is the wife.

On the surface, the following reference about Obama may seem unrelated to Obama's self-deceptive optimism about the economy. But I think that it is very applicable.
