I think you are right. Of course the Clintons liked to use them as servants.

That show was one of my favorite shows as well. And yes, Col. Klink used to say Hoogaan! in a sing song kind of way.

Thanks for that info and for the movie tip. I don’t think I have ever seen this.

I was aware that he will be Chief to the Europe Commander. I didn’t know exactly what to think of this as none of my family/extended family serve in our Military.

Aren’t the Germans going back and forth with USA/no USA? Putin/No Putin? I can’t keep track anymore this foreign policy circus of the current Administration.

Will this guy advise Euro command to rescue American diplomats? I’d like to know that.

I’m feeling that way. Liaison, interfacing, okay but every article (granted most are all sourced from the same Army.mil) stresses the “first” aspect of it. Being as ignorant as I am of Military ranks, I had no idea as a civilian if this was significant in a bad sort of way.

Hmmm, I’ll think about that. I assume Ike liked the Brits?

You ain’t kidding. I’m touchy too about that. Never have seen an Administration in my life in which I am questioning the loyalty to it’s own Country. Anything is possible with this bunch. Sad that I and many others have to feel this way, but it’s not a feeling without evidence.

Thank you for your input of this. Before I posted, I read a couple articles (all sourced from the Army) and I was not sure what to think, so, ask the best source in America, the Freepers, and Freepers with Military experience.
Again, thanks all. I learned a lot and in this case, google was my friend. :)

I want to apologize for the many spelling errors in my last post to you. I am recovering from major surgery and am still on some heavy pain killers so my concentration and proof reading skills are shot.

I didn’t even notice. No worries. I’m far from the spelling police. A lot of the time I don’t cap when I should because of my fingers freezing up. I hope you are better soon! (esp before O’care)

Ike like some of the Brits. I know Patton didn’t care much for Montgomery, but I don’t know how Ike felt about him.

I was never in Germany when we didn’t train with the Germans.

They were on our side.

Still would be if Obama hadn’t dissed Merkel.

But, NATA has traditionally had an American overall in charge, but lots of the other NATO nations as parts.

The Germans in WW2 were brilliant soldiers (if serving a vile regime), you know this, so your comment is so ridiculously simplistic.

p.s you lost a war as well in the 2oth C, you know. Even the great nations don’t win all the time.

I keep wondering why people seem to be so disinterested in Obama’s Indonesian connection(s) along with so many other people dots. It appears that many do not care who from wherever controls the USA. Today we have a German general in charge of the USA military in Europe. Patton’s spirit must be crying and cussing for the USA Army.

Someone better get over to Wikipedia and set them straight, because they believe that a Chief of Staff outranks a General of the Army.

Thanks for your experiences. I imagine that with Obama, our allies know by now, they can’t count on him.
