Although all the best Irish fled that island long ago and only the dregs remain for the most part, the Seanad is even worse than the dommon run.

The Seanad are selected by various methods, not elected.

Something like 30 out of the 60 are chosen by panels composed of university professors, artists, union organizers, and social workers.

It is not a serious body.
