No. I said, in every single post, that if he was treated as he and the journalist said he was, that he didn’t deserve it.

From this you know for a fact that he owns it?

Maybe the guy is in for some real compensation, and if he’s been targeted by police state wacko cops, I hope so, for all that’s at stake here, but...

SAPD has a border invasion to deal with, they’re not getting a whole lot of recognition for that

1. San Antonio is a bit removed from the border, even if Texas is a "border state."

2. Their big claim to fame is Riverwalk and the Alamo. I doubt if taking a picture of a potential doctor's office is what Homeland Security is worried about. Also, try making the taking of pictures of the Alamo and Riverwalk a crime.

3. Even if it is a "border invasion," do you really think that those who freshly crossed the border are going to have the logistics already in place to be planning a terror attack on an office building, Riverwalk, or the Alamo when they just got here a few weeks ago?

I still think that your comment was irrational over-reaction.

Ok I'll break it down:"This is an office building. The property is privately owned. He is not constitutionally protected to trespass, taking photos of the building."

First sentence: No law against photographing an office building...

Second Sentence: No Law against photographing a private property if you are on a public street or alley or any other public property.

Third Sentence: No where in the story does it say he was trespassing...

I notice you assume that he was trespassing even though the story does not mention it but disregard the story where it clearly points out he owns the building...

You have no grasp of the facts presented...

Either you don't understand the case presented OR you have a hidden agenda.

Which is it?

I wonder how the ahole police chief William McManus would like it if someone beat HIM about his face, skull, and neck?
I’ll bet HE would consider it “out of order.”

He and his jackbooted trio should be arrested.

They used his head as pinata and nothing fell out?

Well, thatz just cruel.

Cops might have been on a sugar high.

Did anyone think to ask if they had recently indulged in ohhhh maybe 1/2 dozen donuts and sugar in their coffee?

That might be mitigating. ...

Beating the shit out of an innocent man is “out of order”, dumbass.

Time to find a new Police Chief.

Gov. Perry. Time to clean house. Start a state investigation of Texas law enforcement officers/departments who have screwed up in the past two years.

Restore the people’s faith in decent law enforcement/personnel. Show some leadership on this issue, NOW!

Ok I’ll break it down again as I did in my first statement

IF it happened as the guy said it did, the cops were 100% wrong and they had better get sanctioned

I don’t want to be anywhere near whatever it is.

“the officers had been pursuing a suspect nearby who was wanted on a felony warrant. ”

Oh, and my call for IBTZ is fine by me if y’all don’t care for my language.

This poster is rock hard stupid and using a digger where there ain’t no dirt....

So we can’t take pictures of buildings????

Replying to you and the others who took note of that...

It jumped out at me also. The poster has a point, at least as far as the PTB go. We *are* supposed to be trained, because that's what a police state does, drives its diktats home in any number of ways. Learn passively, and all will be well, comrade.

This particular comment about the photography brought back certain chilling childhood memories from lengthy visits to relatives who lived behind the iron curtain. Amazing we could even do that but in any case,

One of the conditions of their monitored existence was that photography was verboten at train/bus stations, airports, government buildings (obviously a lot of those), schools, and anywhere else the commies had their infrastructure. So no pics of military or police anything. Warning signs were posted prominently at train stations and such.

Oh sure, we could take photos around tourist areas, or in open spaces where presumably noone was watching, but we had to assume that we were being watched for violations.

The contrast to the freedoms we had in America was stark. The oppression was palpable and not something I could easily wrap my mind around. I just knew intuitively that is was very very bad. A dark place. The photography issue is merely one example. There are many more.

Naturally the government didn't want photographic evidence of their utopia getting to the West, but more than that they needed to make people fear so the fearful would edit their own behavior automatically. Kept 'em in line without much work.

But... this guy’s wife is a doctor and he doesn’t know enough post 9 11 not to go around taking pix of buildings.

It’s something we’re trained to not do.

All buildings pretty much covers it, just to be safe of course and not trigger an unpleasant incident such as this fellow endured.

This regime has completed the transformation of America into... that place I described above. Only it's worse, because there's enough bread and circuses and clean air and internet freedom to hide the change from the self-absorbed. And then there are those who have been dumbed down and brainwashed into embracing bondage.

I believe that the God of Abraham has reserved remnant who will have the honor of rebuilding the real America. Don't know when or where, but the real America can't be killed off. She's free. There's something in her nature that Obama and his filthy ilk can't get to, destroy, or take away, try as they might. They know that, and it enrages them.

IT.

You were giving the cops a pass for your alternate universe.

Jack wagon.

how you’ve managed to stay here this many years is a bit vexing.

The odd thing is despite the courts ruling over and over that there is not any general prohibition on photographing buildings, public or private, the cops still act as if there is.

Also, and I think this one may have made it to the Supreme Court, citizens are allowed to video cops during an arrest etc. Despite that, cops keep violating the law with seeming impunity unless the citizen is willing to stick with a law suit.

Uh...Ya!

I believe he was innocent and he got his ass kicked.

Are you suggesting he must have fought back?

Or don’t you believe the 4th cop who said they arrested the intended suspect?
