Immigrant Kids and the Fear of Disease (He says we're all worried over nothing)
RealClearPolitics ^ | July 24, 2014 | Steve Chapman

In 1952, Sen. Patrick McCarran of Nevada took the Senate floor to warn of the dangers posed by foreigners. The immigration system, he said, is a stream that flows into our society, and "if that stream is polluted our institutions and our way of life becomes infected." He was not the last person to see those migrating here as a terrifying source of contamination.

A couple of weeks ago, the city council of League City, Texas, passed a resolution expressing worry that "many illegal aliens suffering from diseases endemic in their countries of origin are being released into our communities." Tom Green County claimed the influx of Central Americans at the southern border puts Americans "at risk for epidemics of serious diseases." A Texas congressman said they might be carrying Ebola.

Now, there is no doubt that some of the youngsters and adults arriving in Texas suffer from various afflictions, including scabies and lice. It's hard to maintain optimal hygiene while trekking through the desert and sneaking rides on freight trains.

But scabies and lice are not unique to Honduras and Guatemala. The United States has a million cases of scabies every year and as many as 12 million of lice infestation. Local officeholders in Texas, however, rarely get agitated when these ailments pop up in New York or St. Louis.

Carrie Williams of the Texas Department of Public Health Services told The New York Times that the incidence of scabies among these newcomers is "not outside the norm of what we would expect."

As for more serious illnesses, the fear is also largely needless....

All those who want illegals should house them with their families and pay their expenses instead of shifting it on the others with far less money.

This guy would no more welcome even one of them into his home than he would take a pay cut or become a missionary.

Drug-resistant TB in particular is a concern but most of the other contagious illnesses and parasites they might bring really aren’t (in a serious medical sense).

Mr. Mercat and I did welcome a 9 year old Mexican girl into our home several years ago. She had been kidnapped by her paternal aunt and then abandoned here in KC. Her mother in Mexico wanted her back. We fostered her for about 9 days and then drove her to Dallas/Ft. Worth so she could take a direct flight. With money mom had wired us, we put her on a plane to Mexico City. Yes, lice. No scabies.

Also, chikungunya is spread almost 100% through infected animals and birds, not humans. Sure a few infected humans here and there could be bitten but this is insignificant compared to the animal kingdom.

Well in 1952 we could still use DDT to remove the critters that better facilitates transfer of certain diseases.

if we have no fear of our kids or ourselves being infected by diseases carried by these people...

then why are inoculations of our kids required to attend public school?

88 of the 200 illegals housed in Artesia N.M., and near where I now live, tested positive for TB. Do we want another TB epidemic?

studies after studies show Americans are getting shorter, fatter and our collective IQ is plummeting. Meanwhile, crime is shooting up and diseases with names I can’t pronounce are showing up in Minnesota and Virginia. Media baffled.

While the children pose a modest threat (through the communicable diseases they may be carrying, or the parasite problem they may be infested with), all this pales beside the fact that that some three-quarters of those entering are beyond the ages generally attributed to “childhood”. They are ADULTS, and many of them are by no means Salvadoran, Guatemalan or Honduran. There is a large admixture of Middle Eastern types, trying to PASS as Central American, and among these, there are some very dedicated Islamic Jihadist militants, arriving as sleeper agents. And even among the Central Americans that arrive, a goodly portion are the very gangs the OTHER children are trying to escape FROM. Technically “minors”, they are already hardened criminals in their own land. They are just setting up advance placements for additional gang members to rendezvous later.

Plus, not all the children arriving are “unaccompanied”, many are in the custody of relatives who are “piggybacking” on the entry of the children.

Here is an article from The Conservative Treehouse about an illegal that just walked out of the hospital after he was diagnosed with TB. They can’t find him; and, they are concerned that he may have a drug-resistant strain of the disease:

McCarren , himself, was a child of early Irish settlers, and was a vehement anti-communist, who was pro-immigration when the United States were a vibrant manufacturing country.

The McCarran Internal Security Act Legislation proposed by Senator Patrick Anthony McCarran and enacted by Congress in 1950 that subjected alleged members of designated Communist-action organizations to regulation by the federal government.

The McCarran Internal Security Act, also known as the Subversive Activities Control Act of 1950 (50 U.S.C.A. § 781 et seq.), was part of a legislative package that was designated as the Internal Security Act of 1950.
Congress passed such statutes in response to the post-World War II Cold War during which many public officials perceived a threat of violent and forcible over-throw of the U.S. government by U.S. Communist groups that advocated this objective.
Among other things, the legislation required members of the Communist party to register with the attorney general, and the named organizations had to provide certain information, such as lists of their members.
It established the Subversive Activities Control Board to determine which individuals and organizations had to comply with the law and the procedures to be followed. Failure to satisfy the statutory requirements subjected the individual or organization to criminal prosecution and stiff fines.

Congress repealed the registration requirements of the law in 1968 as a result of a number of decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court that declared certain aspects of the law unconstitutional.
and who holds that seat now ??
The enabler assitant to the head commie/dick-tator/ Socialist/Jihadist ? McCarren would roll over in his grave for what is being done in this decade, and would probably spit in the face of the 'enabler'.

While McCarren was in favor of immigration, he would be in favor of 'controlled immigration' since his parents came through LEGITIMATE IMMIGRATION , stayed in line , and came through legitimate social and medical review.
Ellis Island provided prevention of disease and social misfits from entiring the country.
What is happpening is "Obama's Social and Medical PLAGUE" designed to 'CLOWARD- PIVEN' the entire country into a third-rate bannana Republic
THerefore ,.. it should be called "Obama's Social and Medical Invasion to make the USA a "Third World Country"
or what Obungler calls "Leveling the field "

Yeah nothing to worry about, people can’t possibly spread diseases in an epidemic like oh, say, smallpox, yellow fever, cholera, spanish flu, polio, asian flu, whooping cough, aids just to name a few. And perhaps he would like to lecture those in Africa not to worry about ebola being spread by people. Personally I think the guys a friggin idiot!

Yeah...the illegal scumbag alien pictured in the article really looks like a "child", doesn't he? I can't wait to hear some of the bleeding heart types here on FReep talk about how innocuous these human bio weapons are when TB descends on their hometowns.

Or better yet, when some of those Ebola carriers start coming to our shores.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

After he was diagnosed with tuberculosis, he was told to stay in a nearby motel and wait for a health worker to deliver medication.

&&&
Wow! Sending him to a motel sounds like a great way to avert an epidemic.

In the mid 1800's and early 1900's legal immigrants sacrificed everything for a shot at becoming an American. Many immigrants at Ellis Island were denied entry and were isolated for minor things such as eye inflammation, (nonspecific) coughs and sore throats.

Now we are being told that tuberculosis, plague, bird flu, scabies and even leprosy are not a reason for concern??? When did fear of an epidemic become a hate crime?
