The nearest neutral port would be Port Said.

President Sisi would be quite pleased.

If Israel can’t produce an operational EMP weapon, its not likely that anyone can.

And as Turkey is the land which hosts the “seat of Satan” and looks to be where the revived Ottoman empire (8th Beast)arises one wonders if this is not the kickoff to the end times prophetic war.

Since Gaza is not Israeli territory, don’t you think all these anti-Israeli NATO countries would take Turkey’s side??

That is a unilateral movement by Turkey, not on its own territory. fair game.

I remember seeing Turks in uniform, shopping at the PX in Yokohama in the 1950s.

.....an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all....

But not in the Middle East! Don't think even the EU claims the waters out off Gaza, yet!

If Israel interdicts the flotilla, do you not think Turkey will claim that Israel has committed an act of aggression against Turkey?

(and Turkey is a member of NATO; therefore, Turkey could demand NATO honor its Article 5 commitment. Don't know how well it would be received, but I would bet that Obama would be 100% in favor of standing with his ally)

While I’m sure our President would like to take action, NATO is a defensive pact, not obligated to support Turkey in adventurism.

Not having read the treaty, I don’t know, but if the quoted part of the treaty is correct, ie. it covers attacks in Europe and North America, then Israeli actions against Turkey in Asia wouldn’t trigger NATO treaty obligations. FWIW, I don’t believe that the UK tried to invoke the NATO treaty when attacked in the Falklands by Argentina. Wouldn’t that be a similar situation?
