Why did they give Hamas and the UN time to reload?
I’m loathe to question the Israeli Prime Minister, but it seems counterproductive to what may amount to giving the enemy time to regroup and rearm.
Why not come out with both guns blazing and be over and done with it?
My thoughts exactly, never understood those cease fires in times of war.
The IDF is strong, the Israeli government is weak. That’s why.
LOL!!!! Excellent!
It gave the Israelis time also.
If you have a decent intelligence/reconnaissance apparatus in place, sometimes it helps to turn out the lights to find the roaches.
Also It was Shabbat. Wonder if that had anything to do with it.
When things quiet down the rats will come out of their holes. When it starts up again the rats will scurry back to their holes and now you know where the holes are.

From a human perspective, it is hard to order men into combat, knowing some will die. Caring leaders will want to give their soldiers the opportunity to put their affairs in order and get right with the Lord and say their prayers. What more can you do?
Also, as pointed out, a pause may cause some high value targets to poke out from their holes or move, where surveillance could track them.
A pause allows for all the assault troops and pilots to sleep, refuel and rearm, before a big all-night push. You can inspect and get the thumbs up that all units are ready - it is the responsible thing to do before launching kids into combat (I say kids with love).
Tonight is a great time for a big push, as it will be the dark of the moon.
After midnight...
Ceasefire = Reloading.
All good points
