Absolutely love that movie!

Best line: Tony Shalhoub after he beams the Rock Monster into the evil lizard's group -"It's the little things..."

At first I thought “What is this stupid movie doing with all these top-tier actors?” But as it went on I was swept up in it. It had me in tears in a couple of places. I’d love to see a sequel.

One of my very most favoritest movies. I’ve watched it a dozen times, at least. There are a lot of fascinating small touches in it that are very clever.

I always loved the aliens reaction to “Gilligan’s Island.” I laugh just thinking about it. I don't have to click the link. This movie was such a good parody. It is required viewing at least 2 times a year in my house and my kids friends are required to see it before they are allowed to "hang" around the house.

Or when he first is transported to the ship. All the others are shaking and quivering in shock, and he’s just grinning like “Wow.”

I loved Sigorney Weaver in it. Before this she was always playing serious parts, and with this proved she could be as funny as anyone. It was a completely different side to her.

And by the way, the cartoon girl's aren't real. They're drawn.

My FAVORITE lines are the back and forth between Tim Allen’s character, Jason Nesmith, and Alan Rickman’s character, Sir Alexander Dane.

My FAVORITE line in the movie is delivered by Rickman and is directed at Allen, IIRC, after Allen participates in a very physical fight scene which ends with the NOW “shirtless” Allen winded, but victorious.

Sir Alexander Dane: I see you’ve managed to get your shirt off.

One of my top 10 favorite movies E.V.E.R.

I also found this on the link you posted.

Galaxy Quest: Deleted Scenes

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fM_IQAhvnKQ

It starts off with familiar scenes from the movie and the shows the unseen cuts of those scenes.

Weird subtitles, but the cut scenes are interesting.

I adore this movie. One from a short list that can always cheer me up on a bad day. I like it so much, I own it, and yet I’ll still watch it on tv when I stumble across it. :)

He and “Guy” are my favorite characters. Growing up watching the original ST reruns over and over and over, I know that this movie mocks every nuance of Trekkiedom, including the conventions and fans.

Oh, I love it when they’re looking at those deceptively cute little miners, and Gwen goes “Awww...” and starts forward. Guy yanks her back and squawks, “Do you guys even WATCH THE SHOW??”

One of my favorites. I liked the "Rudimentary Lathe" line, too - a great send-up of Star Trek's "Arena" plot.

The look on this guy's face when he gives in to the alien's amorous advances. Priceless.

Yep, perfectly done. As was Guy's reaction to what transpired next.

Thanks for posting this, great movie, one of my favorites of all time. Mostly because I don’t like Shatner, and Tim Allen got it down perfect playing the obnoxious captain. Bought it and watch it repeatedly.

I only watched Galaxy Quest because I'm a big fan of Sigourney Weaver. Also I liked the other actors. And I like sci-fi movies, even the lame ones. And I like comedies. Are those enough reasons to watch it?

I was also surprised and amazed that Sigourney Weaver could do comedy after all those dramatic roles like Working Girl and Ghostbusters.

And I don't think that I've ever read a longer post on Free Republic. Thanks V.F.
