'They are savages,' say Christians forced to flee Mosul by Isis

Iraqi Christians who were forced to flee the northern city of Mosul under threat of forced conversion or execution by jihadists have spoken of their terror as churches were turned into mosques and their homes and property confiscated.

Hundreds have found shelter in areas between Mosul and Irbil – the capital of the Kurdistan regional government – that are controlled by Kurdish Peshmerga fighters, but they face an uncertain future.

Monks at the 4th-century Mar Behnam monastery, a major pilgrimage site run by the Syriac Catholic church, were allowed to take only the clothes they were wearing.

Two nuns who were looking after three orphans were kidnapped but later released. The Arabic letter "N" for Nasrani (Christians) was daubed on the doors of houses – to show that they had been seized as the property of the Islamic state declared by Isis.

"There is not a single Christian family left in Mosul," Behnam said. "The last one was a disabled Christian woman. She stayed because she could not get out. They came to her and said you have to get out and if you don't we will cut off your head with a sword. That was the last family.

"There is not a single family that left and was not robbed. They took our money, gold, even the earrings from their [women's] ears. They took everything, even mobile phones.

Mosul, the largest city in northern Iraq, was once among the country's most mixed. Waves of attacks on Christians since the 2003 US-led invasion to topple Saddam have eroded its once sizeable Christian population, mainly from the Assyrian and Chaldean denominations.

Human Rights Watch has condemned Isis for its vicious campaign against minorities in the Mosul area.

The Muslim invaders did exactly same thing in India during the period 8th century through 17th century. Muslim empire in India began it’s decline only after a Hindu warlord named Shivaji defeated Muslim Emperor Aurangjeb in the 17th century.

Could the US grant refugee status to Christians fleeing Islamic states?

They could. But they won't.

He’s not campaigning, he’s partying. That’s what fundraisers are. So basically all he’s been doing is partying in between vacations.

Write your congressman and ask for special admittance for Iraqi Christian refugees.

There are precedents for special admissions.

And if there is enough public pressure, I don’t see how
the government could refuse it (even if they were opposed).

I’d rather write my congressman to send armed troops ever there and bomb the crap out of the muzzies. This nation cannot take in billions of refugees. They need to learn to defend themselves.

ISIS wants to return to the 7th Century — as long as ‘they’ can keep some of the modern weaponry, etc. Or rather, ISIS wants to return the population to the 7th Century, but give themselves some extended privileges.

Now that the Jews have been basically cleansed from the moslem countries of the Middle East the toughest thing to be on this planet is a Christian living in any of those countries.

Which truth will get you in bigger trouble; stating that Islamists are murderous evil enemies of Judeo/Christians around the world; or stating men desiring to having anal sex with men (or women with women) is not only a sick perversion but against God’s teaching and an abomination in His eyes?

Obama won’t do it. Devout Arab Christians are likely to vote GOP when they become citizens...

Take a close look at this administration. You KNOW in your heart what the answer is. Even the mainstream media has divorced itself from this ethnic cleansing. Their focus is on Gaza and the illegals immigrating across the southern borders.

If anything, these people want nothing to do with the US. They lived peacefully under Sadam Hussein. Once he was removed from office, as crazy as he may have been, a void was created. ISIS has now stepped into that void. This past week, these radicals have:

Blown up the tomb of the prophet Jonah

An 1,800-year-old church being burnt to the ground in Mosul, Iraq.

The christians driven out of Iraq had to pass a checkpoint. According to one eyewitness, all jewelry was confiscated; fingers were even severed in certain cases.

Shivaji made the mistake of not stomping on Aurangjeb and his muzzies when they were down.

I will but I should not have to.

Any congressman with a decent bone in his body should have taken action without any of us having to ask him to do so.
