The Muslim invaders did exactly same thing in India during the period 8th century through 17th century. Muslim empire in India began it’s decline only after a Hindu warlord named Shivaji defeated Muslim Emperor Aurangjeb in the 17th century.
Shivaji made the mistake of not stomping on Aurangjeb and his muzzies when they were down.
